***New update! I hope you enjoy it!***
Time on my own was just what I needed. After seeing Lucca on that Sunday morning, we went straight home in the afternoon. I didn't leave my room for about two days where I constantly slept and felt tired still. Then I had to get out after my parents started to panic. I spent the whole week in the house though, I didn't feel like leaving and I had everything I needed. Then the last week we traveled to the East so the girls could visit more of Uruguay. But I asked to stay home on Saturday so we could spend our last day in family. Back when I lived here, the family day was on Sundays, but as I was leaving on Saturday night, we made it a day earlier. We got up late and had breakfast overlooking the countryside on the hot summer day. We left to the city straight afterwards to watch a football game. Our team was playing so we went to the match before meeting Mariana and Oriana with their kids for lunch. We spent the whole afternoon in the beach but left early to catch the evening mass in the town's church. Half of the church was overtaken by us; it was a funny sight to see. We later left home to enjoy our last meal together and we went to finish packing. The flight took off at three in the morning but we had to be by the airport at least one hour earlier. We left a little over midnight, the kids were fast asleep, so the goodbyes were among the grownups only.
- I'll miss you, little one. We'll go visit with your mother soon though, so no tears. – My dad tried comforting me while I hugged him, but I cried hard anyways.
- Hey, Ari, don't cry. You stupid b*tch. You are making me cry. – Oriana started tearing up.
- Woah, you made the stone woman shed a few tears. Someone record this. – Mariana said from behind her, side hugging mom.
- Don't bother her! It's the pregnancy hormones probably. – I defended Ori and hugged her.
- Well, then you've been pregnant for this past two weeks then. – Bri laughed, making me throw a glare her way.
I finished saying goodbye to everyone and we got into the car. Bri was taking us to the airport as it was so late and nobody else fit in the car due to our huge suitcases and bags. Saying goodbye to Bri was the hardest though, but thanks to Rach and Chantal who started joking around and doing stupid stuff around the free shop, I wasn't crying anymore when we were boarding the plane. Once on our seats, we took some sleeping pills mom had given us after we complained about our flight coming here being so long. The pills worked fast on the girls who were asleep even before the plane had taken off, but not me. I stared into the dark sky for a while, thinking. About Lucca, obviously.
I have to make a decision before I get home, before confronting him. I could think with a clearer head now, two weeks later. He'd cheated on me with a woman that worked in one of his clubs. It could happen again, definitely. And I don't trust him, if I may be honest. What shocked me greatly out of all, were his reactions. He was so nonchalant about cheating on me, he'd never felt guilty or disappointed, only did when I left. If I hadn't found that text, I'd still be blindly deceived. And when he found out I'd slept with another guy when we'd already broken up, he'd flipped and called me hurtful disgusting names. He insulted me and humiliated me in front of my friends, my sister –who he also mistreated-, some of his bodyguards even...
But in the other hand, he'd cheated out of anger because he misunderstood a situation. Kind of like what I did when I slept with Mateo. It was a totally different situation, but one of the reasons I'd gone home with him those two nights was to forget Lucca. Now, regarding Mateo, he hadn't meant anything. We'd parted ways that same morning Lucca found me. When I told Mateo I was leaving back to the US he'd wished me the best and that's pretty much it. We had a great time and he was a great guy, if we lived in the same country I'd probably go out with him.
