***Here's another update! I'm awesome, I know. Thank me later ;)***
- Morning! – I yelled as I came in through the front door of the beach house and started to take my heels off to leave them by the door. I got no reply so I continued yelling as I fought with the buckle of them heels: - I had a wonderful night at Mateo's, thanks for asking. Not even one of you texted me, you cheap sl*ts! – I joked as I got the first one off my feet.
- Hey, Ari? Why don't you come here? – I heard Bri say from the living room.
- I'm going, I can't take the heel off. I asked Mateo to fasten the buckle but he did it too tight and now I can't take it off. Hey, can you lend me some money? Mateo was still a bit drunk this morning so I took a cab here and need to pay for it. – I yelled while finally taking the damn shoe off and then headed to the living room still talking: - He insisted he could drive here, but I didn't want to risk it. I mean, imagine if he got pulled ove- I couldn't finish the sentence because of what I found in the living room.
The three girls were sitting all in the couch, facing two standing men in suits. What the- Clement and Aaron?! What the hell are they doi- And then I turned to look in the direction of the kitchen. Lucca was standing by the island that separated the kitchen from the living room.
- Lucca! – I exclaimed surprised. He was gripping the island with his head down and closed eyes. His fingers and knuckles were white from the pressure in which he was gripping the table.
And then I understood everything. The girls must have told him about where I was last night. And I'd been yelling everything about my night with Mateo! Oh my god! He looked so angry, he looked in pain. I feel so damn bad.
Nobody spoke for a while, all waiting for his next move, reaction, word, something. But nothing happened. Then Chantal mumbled something about paying for the cab and left through the front door, running away from this thick atmosphere. Clement's phone rang and he left through the side window-door that lead to the backyard and pool. Aaron threw a small smile my way and asked the girls to follow him to the rooms to give us privacy. While getting up, Bri shot me a questioning look, unsure to leave me alone with Lucca, but I nodded in reassurance.
I stood still after the door closed. Lucca didn't move or speak, he stayed in that position. After a long while of silence, I was about to say something but he beat me to it.
- Who is he?
- Mateo? H-he's a guy I m-met two nights ago. – I went straight to the point but still answered nervously.
- Why?
- Why what?
- Why him? What does he have? – He asked rising his head to glare furiously at me.
- What does it have to do with anything? Why does it even matter? – I asked now mad. Was he going to get all mad at me now? What a hypocrite! We aren't even together!!
- It matters as much as the bartender. How come she mattered so much and this f*cking d*ckhead doesn't? – He hissed enraged.
- You saw her when we were together. Now if you don't recall, we've already broken up, so it's way different. – I replied bitterly.
- So you go around f*cking every guy that buys you a drink, just like you did with me?
- What are yo- You know what? You are right, Lucca. I sleep around and go home with every guy that buys me a drink. What are you doing in a sl*t's house? You should go before anyone sees you here. – I hid my hurt and faked relaxation, like I didn't care. I couldn't even stand to see his face.
