chapter 49
Nicole cried herself to sleep last night after the whole blow up thing. I had no idea how attached she was to him. it somewhat pisses me off but at the same time I have to be caring for her, this was a very fragile subject to talk about right now. apparently landen was her "second mate" but I don't believe that shit. I think he was just so in love with her that she ended up believing it too.
"no I didn't" she said walking into the kitchen to pour herself a cup of coffee
"sorry baby I didn't mean it like that its just I was thinking" I stuttered out words
"its fine" she said plainly
I walked over and wrapped my arms around her wasit and left soft kisses on her exposed shoulder.
"please don't be down princess" I whispered and kissed her favorite spot behind her ear
"I-I'm not" she moaned
"yes I can smell it. ever since he died you wouldn't stop crying" I replied
"well maybe I'm sad Kevin what do you think? if someone you got close to walks into a burning building and dies!" she said snapping around so we could be face to face
"watch your tone" I said trying not to growl
"oh right sorry alpha" she said sarcastically and stormed past me
"Nicole stop it!" I said grabbing her hand
"I didn't have my wife with me for the week and now when I see her again she's sad and angry. I can't even make love to her because she's angry or sad about some guy who was making lovey dovey with her!" I explained
she nodded and thought for a while.
"I'm so sorry kev I didn't think of it I was being selfish I'm sorry. he's not my mate I shouldn't be so attached" she apologized
I stroked her hair out of her beautiful face leaving kisses up her jaw bone
"thanks love and I promise to make the best love possible so at the end you won't remeber who the fuck landen is" I smiled and cupped her cheek and stroked it with my thumb
she giggled and took my hand kissing it
"I'd like that" she said softly
"I knew you would" I smiled and pressed my forehead to hers.
we stood there holding each other not wanting to let go.
"Kevin" my father called
I grolwed but Nicole touched my cheek calming me.
"son we have a meeting remember" he coughed
"we just rescued my queen from her physo father and haven't had any time for her but this little second!" I yelled but shr pressed her lips on mine stopping me from embarrassing myself any further.
"its fine ill go find Margaret" she whispered pulling from the kiss
I nodded and bit my lip, I turned to go up the stairs just to turn and see her one more time.
"come we have a lot to talk about" my father said
we walked into the meeting room and my beta was standing with nick sitting across from him.
"what's going on?" I asked
"alpha we went back to the ruins and we found Nicole's mother hiding in a safeway room" jason said
"she's alive?" I gasped
"yes alpha she's alive and well but is lacking food" jason confirmed
"where is she?" I asked frantically
