I'm at my locker getting out my algebra textbook. Peter walks up and asks, "How's it going buddy?" I don't answer. "Well if you didn't want to talk, I can go." He says. "No no, it's not you Peter. It's Rose." I confess. "You mean like the Rose that just moved to our school?" He asks, confused. "Yeah. See yesterday, we were texting ..."

"And she said something not nice I'm guessing." He says. I nod. "I thought she was starting to like me." I said. "I thought Lizzy was your Cinderella girl you were so dieing to see again?" He says. "Well ... she doesn't seem like the girl I met at my party." I say. "But she has to be! The shoe fit perfectly, at least, that's how you described the feeling." He says. "I don't know." I slam my locker closed. "See ya Peter." I say, walking to first period. "Later."

As I walk into first period, I see Rose sitting in her seat. I just walk by avoiding eye contact, and act like she isn't there. Really hard to do. I get a text again. I check who it is. Rose. Of course. I read the one she just sent me.

I can explain everything. I turn to her and say, "Fine."
