I screamed Sonny's name. Over and over and over again, as if no one was listening. Everyone was searching for the gun man, but he had escaped somehow. I assumed that it was Harold. Though that didn't matter at the moment. Carisi needed to be taken care of. I started towards him but Barba held me back.
"No!" I shouted.
"He'll go t-to the hospital, Y-y/n, stay back!" Rafi had completely lost his cool.
"We need to go," I said.
"Shh, I know," he rubbed my back.
I saw an ambulance gather up Carisi's limp body. He didn't look to good, but whoever attack him didn't have good aim. He was hit in the arm. Maybe whoever did it intended for that to happen?
I didn't know, but what I knew was that I couldn't let him die for me. No one dies for me.
The ride to the hospital was a blur. I couldn't remember anything and I felt as if I was going to throw up. Sonny was like a brother to me. He was the one who got me and Rafi together. He should at least see us get married before he dies.
What was I thinking? Carisi was NOT going to die. It's an arm wound, nothing much.
"I love you," I said to Rafi.
I looked over at him. He was staring out the window of the cab. I wondered what was going through his mind.
We arrived at the hospital 5 minutes later. We dashed inside and Rafael immediately asked where Carisi was.
"Room 216 on the 2nd floor," she told us, "Who are you?"
"Friends," he quickly responded before grabbing my hand and running.
We took the stairs since it was only the second floor.
Once we reached the floor, Rafi started mumbling to himself, "210, 212, 214, 216!"
Inside Carisi was all wired up, but conscious, "Hey guys. They took the bullet out. I'm fine."
I started to cry, "I'm so sorry Sonny."
"You didn't shoot me Y/n, it isn't your fault," he smiled and waved for me to come over.
"Harold did this! I invited him in-"
"No Y/n, I'm the only one allowed to feel bad here. I'd take a bullet for you anyday," he tried to hug me.
I coldly denied him the hug, "I don't want you to."
I ran out of the room. I sat down on the bench outside the room and stared at the ground. I didn't know exactly who I was pissed off at. I shouldn't have snapped at Carisi. I should have walked right back into that room and tried to make Sonny laugh and tell Barba that I loved him and try to get a response out of him. I didn't do that. Why didn't I do that?
"Hey," I heard a voice say, "Y/n?"
I looked up, "Clark?"
"Don't worry, I'm not here to yell at you," he moved closer to me.
I grinned a little, "I don't know what to say."
He put his arm around me, "You don't have to say anything."
I removed his arm, "I don't need your comfort."
"What you need is a break," he said.
I replied, "I agree."
"Let me get you some lunch, it's the least I can do for calling you a slut in the court room," he leaned back.
I chuckled a bit, "Sure. That sounds nice."
"Why don't you come with me? Barba is in there with Sonny and I'm sure the squad is on there way. Besides, I'm not sure that he wants to see you. You stormed out of the room and I don't see a pleasant look on his face either," Clark stated.
I looked back. Clark was right; Sonny did not look happy at all.
I stood up off the bench, "Let's go. I'll text Barba that I went out to get lunch with you. He trusts me."
As we were walking Clark joked, "I'm not so sure he trusts me though."
I thought, I don't either. But I'll take the chances.
"To put it in your words, you did kinda call me a slut in court," I laughed.
"I didn't mean anything by it though. I'm just doing my job, you know that," he tried to justify himself.
This guy, I said to myself, He's different. He's not so bad.
We walked out to his car. The car looked like what you would expect from Clark. I didn't know what type it was, but it was black and slick looking. The car perfectly matched Clark's hair. He unlocked the car and we hopped in. I shut my door, put my seatbelt on, and pulled out my phone to text Barba.
Y/n- Hey Rafi. I went out to lunch with Clark. He isn't such a bad guy. I don't know where we are going but I am going to take a cab back to the hospital. I'm sorry to bail, but I need a break from all of this.
I looked up and over at Clark. I didn't see Clark though. All I saw was the end of a gun.
"Run and I'll shoot you and finish up my unfinished business or as you call him, Carisi," Clark said.
I didn't say a word.
He grinned widely,"Now, here's your options, run and maybe, just maybe, avoid a bullet to the skull, but most likely get yourself and Sonny killed, or come with me and have a real nice time. Your call baby doll!"
