"Alright," he pulled me into the building, "We've got some stairs to climb."
We climbed three flights of stairs. I kept thinking of ways to get out of this. I also thought about what he was going to do to me. The man's voice echoed in my head.
She is his.
I'm no one's. I never will be, not even Rafi's.
Rafi...
We entered a room that was dark and dusty. Windows surrounded the floor and each had little beams of moonlight shining through the dirty glass. In the middle of the room was a chair with rope next to it.
"Guess where you'll be sitting," Clark said.
I said nothing. I didn't want to give him any ammunition.
"You certainly weren't quiet earlier, why now? Is the fear starting to sink in? Is the realization that you may rot like this building hitting you? Try not to think about it to much," he sat me down in the chair and tied me up.
My hands were tied behind my back and more rope was placed at my chest and feet. My legs were spread wide open (on purpose). I suddenly started to regret wearing a dress.
"All white, let's hope you don't piss yourself," he laughed, "Ah, I crack myself up sometimes!"
"What do you want?" I asked.
"There she is," he bent down and put his hand on my cheek, "What I want is an explanation."
"Of what?" I replied.
"Of what? Of WHAT? Do you really not remember? Two years ago, that coffee shop around the corner of the court house, January 3rd at 9:02 p.m., you must remember!"
"I don't...no...I do...that's the day Barba and I met for our first date," I smiled.
He scowled and gritted his teeth, "That's also the day you turned me down."
"I did?" I couldn't remember.
"Yes!" he exclaimed, "Our friend set us up on a blind date. I was late due to a case, but instead of waiting you turn your attention to another man...Rafael Barba."
I couldn't really remember it that way so I just said something. Hoping that he would go along with it.
I felt brave, "You were two hours late. I was tired of waiting for you. You could have called."
"I did!" he shouted, "You never answered!"
"So all this-"
"Was because you didn't wait," he finished for me, "Isn't Karma a bitch y/n?"
I felt a hand go up my thigh.
"Please don't," I begged.
"You should know that I'm not going to listen to you," he said.
"Clark-"
"My name still sounds so good in your mouth," he interrupted me, "but continue on."
"I don't know what to say. How could I
wait all that time? I looked so stupid sitting there with my Harry Potter book. I looked like a kid. Barba just came over and started talking to me. I wanted to tell him, but it felt so nice to have company," I tried to stay calm."I can't stay mad at you y/n," he kissed my forehead, "But that doesn't change anything."
"How is this my fault?" I wanted to get to the point.
He changed the subject, "I've been waiting for so long for us to have this talk. This moment just seems so dreamlike! Don't you agree?"
"It's more like a nightmare," I answered.
"Oh I missed this on our first date, that fire! If only you would have waited a few more seconds, three girls wouldn't be dead," he taunted.
I exploded, "I didn't kill them!"
He instantly replied, "Neither did I!"
"Let me finish!" I continued, "You're the one who arranged them to be murdered. Please just tell me what really bothers you. That can't be the only reason you have for doing all this."
Clark smiled, "How smart of you! You're right, for once, I didn't do this just because you and I never kicked things off. Barba had a significant role."
"I thought you didn't expect him though. You made it sound like we were a secret," I argued.
"That was meant to distract you, I knew about you and him. Everyone knows. To tell you the truth, I didn't expect you to know Harold. You have a habit of not giving poor guys a chance," he explained.
"Why go after girls Harold knew? What part did Barba have in all this?" I was confused.
"Y/n, you shouldn't ask so many questions. It'll hurt that pretty head of yours!" he started to kiss me again.
"Get off of me!" I yelled.
"No one can hear you," he put his hands all over me.
"Clark, no, don't do this! I'm sorry," I tried to dodge his kisses.
He didn't respond. He just kept going, but he never went any farther then moving his hands all over my torso while kissing and slobbering all over my mouth and cheeks.
He stopped and looked into my eyes, "Things we have been so much easier if you waited."
"I never saw you're face," I gasped at the realization.
He grinned, "You never looked."
