You saw john sitting up in his bed. Was this a trick? "...um....hi" his voice was dry and horse. "...um...wha-what am i doing here"?. He asked, looking around slowly. Karkat broke the silence " JOHN YOU SON OF A BITCH" he tackles him and hugs him. "YOU'RE A FUCKING ASS AND I HATE YOU! YOU'RE A NOOK SNIFFER AND I HATE YOU NEVER DO THAT AGAIN OR I WILL KILL YOU" he yelled angrily. John looks confused. You felt better, seeing him awake he looks at you and smiles some. " okay....first off explain ..second off... could you get me food and water...?" john asked as he looked at karkat.

~ about 2 hours after john woke up~

John was eating happily, looking much better already. Karkat was yelling and being himself. Sollux was also being in the background, just watching Karkat do his thing. Jake was talking to John about stuff as you sit with your bro. " yo...dave...so now we have to plan the jailbreak..." dirk whispers. That was your plan; get caught, go to jail, have Dirk kick Green Gun's ass, and then break out. However, now, you had 2 more people to break out. " yea i know. Jake can do it no problem -- the problem is...". You were cut off when two police officers walked into the room. Everyone looks paler. One man clears his throat. " John Egbert?". He asks in a deep tone. John raises his hand and smiles. " you're being set free. While you were in a coma, the killer struck again. All charges are dropped and for a false charge we will be putting you under 5 month witness protection where you will catch up on school and won't have to worry about a place to stay." he said. John's eyes light up as he nods but he pauses and looks at Jake and Karkat and a quick look at you. " when does that start?" john asked, his voice sounding better. " As soon as you are discharged from the hospital, you will be taken to a house that is ready for you. All your things are there. It's a 3 bedroom house with 2 bathrooms. Its a bit big, but it'll do just fine." the man said and hands Karkat some papers. " sign them to let john be set free and transferred to our hands". He said looking down at Karkat. He signs the papers without even hesitating. " I'LL BE VISITING HIM WHILE HE'S STAYING THERE, FUCKING GOT IT?" Karkat hands them back and the officer nods and leaves the room to go work everything out with the nurses. John looks down, a little sad. " be happy john you're being set free." Sollux said, walking over. " but...." john glanced at everyone. " no buts! this is a good thing. no offense, but you aren't cut out for jail life. you don't belong there, john -- you've done nothing wrong." Jake said, patting his shoulder. " well...that takes care of john". Dirk whispers as he crosses his arms. You nod and let the day play out. John wouldn't stop glancing at you with a soft smile. " so, john, what was it like in a coma"? Jake asked. John smiled "well... i remember hearing you guys talking, but...not much i barely remember getting here...i do remember a few things though....." he glanced at you making you want bolt and run out the room. "i also remember yelling -- like people were fighting and wanting it to stop.....a warm feeling in my hand for awhile.... And another one". John looks down. Dirk smirks at you " looks like you were caught" he whispers. You flick him off and stay cool, crossing your arms as you slide down in your chair. Soon, it was time to go. Karkat wanted you back before people noticed. Everyone said their goodbyes before leaving. As soon as you went to leave, John calls you over. Karkat lets you know that he'll be waiting for you outside. " yea john? what you need...?" you asked, not looking at him. "...i remember what you said.....and i wanted to thank you... i was in a scary place and you made me happy. thank you. And that was your warmth on my hand wasn't it...?". He said softly. You pay attention to the wall like no tomorrow. "...what of it?" you reply coldly. " thank you... really. now, Karkat's waiting for you, so you'd better go before he gets pissy. You know how he hates waiting" he said, looking down. You feel like you just got rejected but you nod and walk to the door. " oh and dave.... I still have to pay you back for that kiss i felt" john said smiling at you. It sent flutters down into your stomach and you felt your face heat up. "whatever..." .
