Dear mother

Dear mother,

     How have you been?

       Do you miss me?

         It's been a while

Since I've last seen your face

             Have you smiled today?

                Or even at all?

I'm sorry I left you this way

It must be cold over there

              It's quite boring here

          Nobody talks to me anymore

       Do you wonder why?

Perhaps they know what I've done

   Maybe someone saw us

 Maybe they did believe you

Then why, of all things,

Am I still here?

Did you spare my guilt for your own?

Did you lie so I could live?

  I'm so sorry mother

That I'm not the perfect daughter

And your smile has stopped coming

        I'm sorry I went out

When I should have stayed in

      Like a good child

    But my curiosity got away

  It's not your fault

But don't you know that?

Why are you still crying?

The blood is gone, mother

    I cleaned it up

Why is your face so pale?

        Why are you still silent?

           Mother, the knife is gone

       I swear I won't do this again

    Please wake up

  I need you

Mother?
