Don't Care

when words cut deeper than yesterday

you fill your jar with musky tears

and drink your heart till you fall

to the bottom of the ocean, where all the others lay

knowing that they don't care

about the blood that seeps out of your pores

or the broken smile that pulled apart your face

they only see the glimmering jewel

that swings around your neck

they only see another disposable tool

and not the priceless sincerity in your words

nor the way your voice twinkles with delight

turning your eyes into explosions of blue steel

it is only the smooth paper that slips away

that they ever notice, their greed and envy rules all

a green piece of nothing that means everything to them

they don't care that you're fading away
