Demons run when a good man goes to war

              -Steven Moffat

you were but a face in the night

you seemed to swallow up fear

with your molten eyes

you smile with the intensity of the sun

and your kindness is stronger than diamond

you captivated the gods with truth

and turned men around with gentleness

but the demons did fly

nighttime passed you by

and seemed to wrap around you

even more so than the light of day

i say, you are a fright

when blood boils over onto the floor

when the only thing left in you is war

even Ares in all his might and glory

shivers in your wake

enemies, sleep awake tonight

because when a good man stops to fight

hell creeps into the crack of night
