*EDITED*
Grace decided that staying indoors had bored her the past few weeks and decided it would be best for another stroll. But this time, not within the grounds of John's manor. As it was the second Wednesday of the month the market would be open and bustling with people. Just the perfect opportunity to take her mind off everything and just be herself. As her engagement party was just around the corner, she decided to go and see if there was anything that would accompany her dress for the evening, and what better place to find something then the market. She dress up in a deep red dress and where it ruffled, it was lined with black lacing. It was a warm dress of thick taffeta with long sleeves and a squared off neck collar.
" Are you going out, miss?" A small voice called behind Grace as she walked down the halls. Grace turned with a smile and nodded to the young maid.
" Indeed, I decided it would be a good idea to venture down to the market in search of more pieces for my evening outfit." Grace spoke to her lightly as the young maid smiled.
" I can't wait to see you. I have no doubt you will be beautiful." She told Grace with a large smile.
" I have an idea. I will be very lonely going down to the market on my own without John, and seeing as you work here. Why don't you accompany me today?" Grace asked her with a gently smile and the young maid only smiled timidly.
" It would be my pleasure, miss. But what if Master John scolds me for leaving my duties." She whimpered a little upset as she would rather help Grace with her day out. Grace laughed softly as moved her hand in the air.
" Oh hush now, John will not scold you... And if he does, you tell me and I will scold him ten time over." Grace smirked to her as she motioned her head to the young maid to follow her. The maid traveled behind her closely to her right side as Grace took a shawl and wrapped it tightly around her shoulder before she reached up and took another one of her shawls and turned to wrap it around the maid.
" Miss, I can't take this." The maid said trying to take the material off. Grace placed a hand onto her hand to stop the maid.
" Keep it. John keeps buying me things that I do not need. And I know you will put it to good use rather than it just sitting here." Grace said as she re-adjusted it back onto her thin shoulders and turned towards the front door. Grace stepped out and the maid was about to follow suit.
"Cassandra! Where do you think you are going!" A loud voice yelled at the young maid. The small blond headed maid dipped her head and turned around to face the head maid of the house.
" Going to the market with..." She began to explain herself.
" Quiet! I do not want to hear you lies, you where trying to rid yourself of your duties here, well if that is the case then you should rid us of your presence here." The head maid growled and the young maid continued to bow her head with tears beginning to form in her eyes at the fact she had just been let go form her only job.
" Cassandra is not going to rid herself from here. I don't know who you think you are but I am sure the only person allowed to dismiss staff is myself or John. And I do not like the way you are talking to the staff here." Grace spoke to the head maid as she walked into house once again.
"Miss Grace. I am sorry I did not see you there." The head maid bowed to her as Grace stood tall.
"Indeed, But I must warn you. If I hear you talking to the staff here like that again, I will make sure that you are no longer apart of this household staff. Everyone is to be treated with respected no matter of their standing." Grace said before turning around and walking to the door.
