Tahlia's POV
"Goodbye, be good, don't do anything stupid, and most importantly, NO parties!" My parents say, as they walk out of the door, to go on their four week long holiday!
"Yes mum and dad," I say, with an innocent smile.
"We'll miss you, love you," They say finally,
"Bye, love and miss you too, look your going to miss your plane if you don't hurry up!" I exclaim,
"You're right, it's just been so long since me and your father went on a holiday without you," Mum says, sadly, referring to me not even being born, that was when they went on a holiday without me last, ever since I have been born I have gone with them. Now I'm eighteen, and I have enough responsibility to be by myself, at home."Look I will take good care of the house," I say impatiently. While starting to push them towards the car.
As I get the last of their bags into the car, my dad starts the car and slowly backs out of the driveway, I wave goodbye, and head back inside the house.
I pick up my phone and text my friends.
*ur able to come over, just wait an half an hour, & bring booze*
I get immediate answers.
*sweet be there soon. Cya.- Kyle*
*Awesome. I'll bring booze. Can't wait. oxox. -Luke*
*i'll try to be there.-Jacob*
*I'LL BE THERE! - Sera*
I have been waiting way to long for my parents to leave me to my own business for like, ever. I've been so excited since the minute my parents told me they were going away for a holiday.I put my phone down with a grin, to go get ready, I decide to put my favourite black, Butcher Babies t-shirt, black denim shorts, and my skull hoodie. I leave my light brown hair out.
I look a the time on my phone and see that I have another fifty five minutes, so I grab the keys to the garage and wheel out the big esky, I walk back into the kitchen to the freezer to look for ice. But I find out the only ice I have is a tray of it.
This isn't good, I think, I'll have to walk to the servo, to get some ice.I grab the house keys, my wallet and walk outside. I lock the door on my way out, and I start my way to the servo.
When I get there I walk to the freezer and pull out two bags. I stumble at the heavy weight, up to the counter and pay. I head back home.
Thank goodness that I live so close. I think gratefully. As I wander back home slowly, one of the bags of ice slips out of my hand. The bag splits open, just enough for a few ice cubes to fall out.
With relief, I pick the bag back up, and carefully walk the rest of the way home.
I finally return home, with plenty of time to spare, and I empty the bags of ice into the esky. I wander down to the backyard, dragging the esky behind me, I sit it down. Then I walk over to the drum that my dad uses for backyard fires, and roll it up the small hill, to the top of the backyard. I wander back to the shed to grab some fold out chairs, I grab and drag them to the fire drum, and I unfold them, I also set them up, I go back inside to the kitchen to look for a lighter and some old newspaper, to start the fire with. I go into one of the top cupboards and find a large pile of junk mail, and a green bic lighter.
This will do. I think.I go back outside and sit the lighter and paper next to the fire drum. I walk into the shed to get some torches. As I maze my way though the cobwebs and spiders, I reach a large school locker that my dad uses to keep his hunting rifles in. I open the lock guessing the combo, and reach to the top of the lockers' shelf, I feel around and touch a metal thing, I grasp it and pull it down, with a pain shoot through my hand, I pull down one of many of my dad's hunting knives.
