Chapter 2 - New Traditions

The first few weeks of school was just getting used to everything, getting to know teachers, and going over things we all learned last year but this is where all the fun begins. Its officially the 2nd month of high school and you can totally tell. Nobody's dressing up anymore, everyone's coming to school in their bum clothes and not even caring. Marching band is coming to an end which is good cause I really didn't like staying after school. But anyway many things have become different during school for Kayla and I.

~First Period~ We got new seats already so now I sit really awkwardly close to the teachers desk. The seats are arranged in rows and Kayla and I are in the same the row which is amazing because only one girl sits between us, she never comes to school so I sneak in her seat so Kayla and I can goof off, yaaaaaay! Mr. Blankenship was rambling about slope and I was sitting behind Kayla so I started playing with her hair. She turned back at me "DO YOU MIND???" she whispered annoyingly at me then giggled so I knew she wasn't mad at me. I looked at Kaylas' desk and noticed she was doodling on her paper, I tried to read it then I realized she was drawing hearts around some guys name. I squint closely to see that is says "Ryun" I nudge her "IS THAT THE GUY FROM ENGLISH??" she looks back at me with a glare "SHUSH!" she whispers, I giggle and look down at my paper realizing I had no idea what the teacher had just said. ~BEEEEEEEEEEEP~ Kayla waves to me as she walks out of the room and I walk into 2nd period which is right across the hall.

~Second Period~I find my seat and I grab my notebook and start writing down the notes my teacher had left on the board. I sit by really annoying guys and they wont stop talking to each other about all the girls they supposedly had sex with. Gross. I don't know very many people in that class but that's fine with me because I'm a very quiet and shy person. There was a substitute in this class so I was playing on my phone for most of it.

~Third Period~ Third period was my least favorite class, business foundations, it is basically a computer class. It was so boring because all we do in there is type and work on random things, its a computer class. I honestly don't know why I signed up for this class but it's an easy A so whatever. I walk in and on the board it says "NEW SEATS DON'T LOG INTO THE COMPUTERS!" I don't really know anyone in that class either but everyone in there seems nice. Dr. Weaver (My teacher) places me in the front. WHY ME. I sigh and sit down then start to log into the computer and I notice someone sits next to me, he says "Hello" I say it back and he minds his business(Ha.. get it? my class is business foundations.. no? okay.) I guess hes nice. We get an assignment and of course its super easy so I get one in around 20 minutes. I spend the rest of the period just sitting there.

~Fourth Period~ Fourth period is band for me and I walk into the music hallway of the school and grab my clarinet, today was the first day of concert band which means marching band was over and we play music now for concerts. There are 3 different concert bands, Symphonic which is the best, Concert I which is second best and Concert II which is basically where all the freshman are. Except Claire got into Concert I and she's not in my lunch period anymore which sucks. I find my seat and I see Anna sitting next to my seat. I smile and sit by her "HELLO" she screams at me. Anna is kinda weird/creepy but I don't mind. "heyy" I reply and put my clarinet together. Mr Benson (Band Director) starts to direct us by making us play a B flat scale, the easiest. The band plays and carries on. George isn't even playing, I can see him holding his trumpet up to his face but hes not blowing into it or anything. I look at him while i'm playing and he gives me a creeper look. Weird much. The rest of the period we get our new music and go over concert band rules.

~Fifth period~ I love this period cause all of my friends are in it! I hurry and put my clarinet away in the band room and hurry to the commons area (cafeteria) I see Kayla but she's not paying attention I walk up behind her and grab her sides "BLOODY HELL WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM!" she turns "Oh sorry I thought you were someone else" she smiles and hugs me "Wanna go to the vending machine?" I nod and we walk to the vending machine, its basically what we do everyday. We both get Hot Cheetos and I get a Pop Tart. We walk back to our table and of course George and Joey are arguing, George is calling Joey a faggot and Joey is threatening to kick Georges ass. Brian looks up at me and smiles and I smile back. I like him a lot and Kayla's the only one that knows. Luke likes Kayla a lot but she likes Ryun, Its complicated. "Welp, me and Maddie are going outside" Kayla says while getting up. "Oh and Mark, can you go get me cookies from the school store?" Kayla smiles. "Sure.. fine.. " Mark sighs and takes the money Kayla gave him. Kayla and I walk outside and everyone follows, basically we're that group that everyone hates cause we are so loud. but we don't care. "did you see how Brian was looking at you?" Kayla looks at me "no..?' I whisper and she chuckles "Well, I think he likes you." I shake my head and we both keep walking. Once we get outside Kayla and I sit on the benches while we watch Gage, Andy, David, and Joey throw bottles full of juice around to make them explode. George walks outside with this guy Kayla and I have never seen before, "he kinda looks like Tina from Bob's Burgers." Kayla whispers to me "Oh my gosh I know!!" Kayla and I walk up to him and ask "whats your name?" he looks over "Wanna be friends?" he replies. Kayla looks at me confused than back at him "What?" she asks. "Wanna be friends?" he replies again. "Is that your name?" I ask sarcastically. "Yes daddy" he replies. Kayla grabs my arm and we both walk away "What the hell is with him?" She asks. I start laughing and Brian and Mark come out. "GIMME MY COOKIES BITCH!!!" Kayla yells and giggles. Mark gives them to her and says "I get one right?" she nods and he takes a cookie. Brian walks toward me and Kayla "why is he coming over here?? Do I look okay????" I whisper to Kayla "shhh you're fine." He comes over "Hey." his voice cracks as he says it. I laugh and look at him "Good job" I say shyly "Whatever you bully" he teases. I hug him and he hugs back "Sorry I like hugging people." I whisper. "Its alright." he says softly. His hugs are so warm. I walk back to Kayla "Ready to see your lover next period?" I smirk, her face turns bright red "SHUT UP!!!!!!" She covers her face and everyone looks over. "I hate you" she whispers. "I know" I reply.

~Sixth Period~ We got new seats in English and I sit right next to Kayla and Anna. Its perfect, I poke Andy as I go sit down and put my stuff down. "Guess who I see?" I whisper to Kayla, her face turns red and looks around "Oh my god he's so hot..." I laugh and sit down. We're doing a project in English so its pretty calm in there. Kayla, Anna, Andy and I go to the library to work since its quieter there. "Look who's coming to" I whisper to Kayla and she looks back "OHMIGOSH" she replies and blushes. I find us a table and sit down. Kayla sits next to me and Anna sits next to Kayla. Drake (Kayla and I's friend who failed his freshman year so he has to repeat all of his classes as a sophomore ) came too. He sat by Andy at a different table though. Ryun and a few of his friends walked into the library and was looking for a table. He pointed to our table and Kayla punched my arm "What!" I whisper-yelled to Kayla "He's coming to our table" She yelled in my ear "Ow!" I groaned and took out my pencil and started to write my essay. Ryun and his friends came and sat at our table. He smiled at Kayla and sat down. Ryun had medium length brown hair and always wore skinny jeans, a hoodie with his hood up over his hair, and Converse. Kayla usually wears a band shirt, skinny jeans and Vans, they would look cute together. Ryun kept staring at Kayla, I could see it. I thought it was so adorable.

~Seventh Period~ 85% of the people in my 6th period were in my 7th period as well. I sit in the back which sucks cause I'm like blind and can't see but I don't really pay attention in that class. Kayla sits next to Ryun which she loves cause she always tells me. Anna, Andy and Drake sit in the front. Our teacher was talking about spices and other stuff I really wasn't paying attention too because history makes me fall asleep. I checked my phone and saw that Brian had texted me and asked if I could get a pass to the library for next period, I had a study hall 8th period so it worked. I replied i'll try. I noticed that Ryun and Kayla were talking!! I smiled and I could see that she was blushing. She looked back at me and winked. Towards the end of class I went up to Mr. Mcdowell and asked for a library pass and he gave me one. Kayla asked why I had a pass and I said Brian wanted to see me and she smiled "Have fun" I smiled "Tell me about you and Ryun's conversation later okay?" I smiled "Okay" she replied.

~Eighth Period~ I walked up to my study hall teacher and showed her the pass to the library. She nodded and I walked to the library and Brian came up behind me while I was walking. "Hey there" I smiled, "Hey" he said. I went to a computer and sat down and he sat next to me. We both logged in and acted like we were doing work but we weren't, We were just talking and being weird. The whole period we sat there talking about the most random things ever, I really did like him.

The final bell rang and I went to meet Kayla by my locker and her, Claire, and George were standing there. George and Claire broke up but they're still friends. I hugged Claire goodbye and Kayla and I walked outside and sat down on the bench "So.. what happened earlier?" I asked with a smile "HE IS SO CUTE!" Kayla screeched and people looked over. "We were talking about how school was so boring and we both like Anime!!" She smiled. "Sounds pretty fun" I laughed. "You know in sixth period he wouldn't stop staring at you?" She blushed hard "Oh my."

I guess Kayla and I both were crazy about someone. Best friends think alike.
