Warnings: Swearing, small violence
Prompt: You are one of Jacob and Evie's closest friends, and unfortunately, a getaway attempt from some blighters didn't go to plan.
Spoilers: None
===========================
"Oi! Come here, you!" A blighter yelled at you from across the street.
Just keep your head down, (Y/N), just keep walking, you thought to yourself, ducking your head.
"Oi! I was talkin' to you! Don't make me come over there!" The blighter started walking towards you.
That's it! Time to go!
You started running down the street, away from the train station where you were supposed to meet Jacob and Evie Frye, your closest friends. You heard a gunshot, but immediately after you heard an "I missed" which made you sigh with relief.
More and more blighters started to join the chase. What have I got myself into now? Stupid gangs.

"Where is she? (Y/N) was supposed to be here five minutes ago!" Jacob said to his sister, worriedly pacing along the train station platform.
"Jacob, I'm sure she's fine. She can take care of herself and after all, she's a rook." Evie responded calmly.
"But that's just it! Blighters will be on lookout for a rook anyway! If they find out that–" All of a sudden, a rook burst through the sea of people surrounding the twins.
"Frye! It's the blighters, they're chasing a rook. She's outnumbered ten to one." The rook panted, placing his hands on his knees. Jacob paused his pacing at the word 'she'.
"Let's go give her a hand then, shall we?" Jacob set off running toward the moving train, Evie in tow.

Carriage fighting is difficult. There's always that fear of falling off.
"Faster!" You cried, jerking the reins. The horse whinnied and neighed, spurring on.
"Got you now!" A blighter triumphantly hollered, grasping your shirt and yanking you off the seat and onto the roof.
"Sorry, gotta blast!" You said to him, taking your dagger from your belt and stunning the blighter using it's hilt. With a terrifying leap, you jumped onto the roof of another random carriage and hid inside, sitting cross-legged on the floor. Wiping the sweat from your brow, you started to observe the red curtains and seats after you noticed the carriage slowing down almost entirely. Your eyes widened suddenly, along with your palms starting to sweat.
"Oh shi–" you were stumbling to get up when a punch to your jaw sent you back down again, groaning.
"Well well well, what have we got here? A rook, no doubt." The blighter sneered. He popped his head out of the door and yelled to the driver.
"Full speed to Blighter territory! Bet the rooks could use this one! Push the horses on as best you can!" And with that, he turned to you, still rubbing your bruised jaw.
"Three of you, stay here. You never know what mischief she'll get up to." And he jumped up onto the roof.
You placed an elbow on your knee.
"Fuck." You grumbled, rubbing your face.
You started to fidget, becoming very uncomfortable very quickly.
"Stop fidgeting or else we'll have no choice but to restrain you." A blighter in slacks threatened with a scratchy voice. In response, you scoffed and rolled your eyes, earning a sharp kick to your side. You blinked rapidly and inhaled deeply, attempting to hide the wince.
"I've had enough of this." you sprung up and flicked your wrist, deflecting the first blade that came your way. Unfortunately, tight space fighting wasn't your forte, so you weren't surprised when they had finally caught you after slamming you extremely hard into the door, hitting your head on some broken metal that was hanging off.
You fell to the floor with a thump, and before you could check your head for blood, the hilt of a dagger came into contact with the tender skin, sending an enormous amount of pain shooting through your head, followed by a groan of pain coming from you.
Seriously?
Then a train whistle was heard. But not any old train whistle; the train whistle. Thank God, you thought. Commotion was heard at the front of the carriage, along with a sudden fading scream as a blighter flew past the window. The carriage started to slow down again and this opportunity was too good to miss. Your wrist flicked back once again and you sent your blade the through the abdomen of the closest blighter to you. This mist of confusion clouded your actions just long enough for you to gain your bearings. You did well fighting off all these men at once and just after you killed the last one, the last person you'd expect flew through the door of the still moving carriage.
"Thought you'd never come." You chuckled, dusting imaginary dirt off your hands.
"Are you alright?" Jacob asked, resting his hands on your shoulders.
"I'm fine. Let's go help Evie." You carefully climbed through the door to the roof of the carriage, the wind hitting all your wounds and making you wince at the sudden sting.
It took a while to balance yourself on the carriage, but after that you were unstoppable. Sure, blighters were ramming into the side, but you leaped over and took over their mode of transport.

"What were you thinking?! You could've been killed!" Jacob vented once you were all back in the safety of the train.
"It wasn't my fault! All I did was walk down the road!" You retorted, face heating up.
"You must've done something to draw their attention!" Jacob's ears turned bright pink. It was clear that he was pissed.
"What could I possibly do to draw attention?! Do you think I would just start juggling apples in the middle of town?" You started to pace. "And just for your information," you added, pointing at him. "I can't juggle."
"Y/N, you're missing the point!" Jacob firmly grasped your shoulders. "I was worried about you! For all I knew, you would have been as good as dead!" He lifted your chin up with two fingers. "I just want you to be safe." His voice lowered.
"I am always safe. Because I know that if I magically screw up somehow, you'll help me to mop up the mess, even though you'll be standing by the sidelines; metaphorically speaking." You smiled slightly, slowly leaning forward.
"I'll be doing more than standing by the sidelines." Jacob murmured, leaning forward as well. "I'd be refilling the bucket every time you run out of water."
And then, your lips collided with one another. Like jigsaw pieces, you could say, they fit together. You felt something explode inside of you. As cheesy as it sounds, it felt like fireworks. During the kiss, your hands instinctively moved up to the sides of his neck, while his rested on your waist.
And then, you broke apart. Foreheads rested against one another, Jacob couldn't help but stare into your eyes, breathless. He took in every feature of your face, from your hairline to your chin. You did the same to him, a faint smile ghosting your lips.
In this very moment, you couldn't be happier.
