(In this, Draco is not engaged to whatever her name is.)
I think if there was anything that would describe Draco Lucius Malfoy, it would be torn. He wasn't only torn between making his father happy, and making himself happy, but also like a delicate cloth, torn before even being stitched to another to make a beautiful garment of some sort, or that's how I like to think of it.Anthony kissed my cheek, but I just ignored his affection. For some odd reason, I now felt hollow. I held his hand, and it didn't feel right anymore. He would smile and I would have to force my cheeks to lift and try to let out a giggle, which was very breathy and obviously fake."Only happy tears."Since Anthony had found me, there was no need to go to Ollivander's. As we made our way over to Honeydukes, I couldn't help but think of the last day I saw Draco Malfoy. The way he looked sad leaving me, but left anyway. The way he just left me alone to defend myself so he could rule over the wizarding world with other evil people. The way he just now looked at me.I sighed as Anthony dropped my hand, looking for his favorite sweets, or I was assuming so. "I'll be right back," He muttered quickly. I looked around at the shelves, thinking about what to buy with the money the trickster redhead had given me, but to be honest, after bumping into Draco I wasn't in the mood for sweets. I patted my pockets for the coins George had given me to buy George or Anthony something, but nothing was there. I patted my jacket, feeling my wand, but that was it. Then my hands began frantically searching for the galleons and several other metal circles, but to no avail."Shit." I muttered quietly, making sure not a single kid in the store heard the bad word. I instantly remembered bumping into Draco and falling, probably dropping the small box. I slammed my palm against my head, looking around dumbly. I was so caught up with seeing him, and the way he let the word Lioness roll off his tongue like he had used it every day we were apart.Anthony finally ran up to me, holding several Chocolate Frogs, A box of Bertie Bott's Every Flavoured Bean, and a few of (fav candy). I felt the ends of my lips quirk up a little, but my stomach turned at the thought of so many sweets. And thinking of the tasty ear wax bean, which I had gotten before."Thank you so much, Anthony." I kissed his cheek and he beamed with happiness. "You're very welcome, (N/N)."After Anthony bought all the chocolate, he took me all over Diagon Alley. Here, then there, then another here. He bought me a few things, but all I could think about was Draco, Draco, Draco. Did he buy things for his lover, if he had one? Did he buy her Chocolate Frogs and Bertie Bott's Every Flavoured Bean?I just thought it was a queer feeling. Having loved someone who had somehow managed to love you, and had went through so many bad experiences together, but then one thing leads to another and you don't talk for years. And when you meet again, you realized you had completely forgot about each other. And I think the worst part about it was learning somehow, in the mess of life you could live on without them.I pulled out the card from the last Chocolate Frog, a Dumbledore card. He moved delicately like a butterfly that could be easily stepped on, his long white beard seemed so normal in a memory. I quickly crushed the card in my hand and threw it away from me."What's wrong? I thought you liked collecting the Chocolate Frog cards, (Y/N)." He brushed a lock of hair behind my ear, but I just stared at the frog in my hands, ready to be eaten. "It was a Dumbledore card," I finally murmured. "I already have three of them."He nodded, but seemed a little phazed. I just blinked and stared at the slightly snow covered stone path, taking a bite out of the squirming chocolate. I lied. I never kept a Dumbledore card. Finally, we went back to George's place and he had the whole place strung up with elaborate party decorations all in (fav color). I smiled, I was happy, but then I remembered the uneventful events of today and it dropped off my face quickly, as if gravity was pulling it down so hard I could barely keep it up."Happy birthday!" Everyone piped loudly. All the Weasleys' were there, of course. Harry was there with Ginny, and Hermione with Ron. Suddenly, Anthony snuck his arm around my waist and kissed me sloppily on my cheek. Everyone grew deadly silent, looking at us. My palms grew sweaty, knowing what this probably meant.Watching him carefully, he stooped down to one knee. Reaching into his coat pocket, he fetched a small cube, covered with black, short fur. My heart pounded with anxiety. I heard Ginny gasp. He pulled back the lid, revealing big diamonds that sparkled in the light."(Y/N) (M/N) (L/N), will you give me the biggest privilege in the world by marrying me?"I faked a gasp, tears brimmed my waterline. I brung my hands up to my face, covering my agape mouth. I hesitated, thinking."Yes!" I breathed out quickly, wrapping my arms around his neck.My mind was screaming at me, "No! No! Take it back and say no!"Everyone cheered and clapped happily around us. After I pulled away from his neck, he slipped the ring on my left hand, and I splayed it into the light, counting five diamonds. Two on each side, then a big, brilliant one in the middle. Slowly, a blue color started to poison the clear, purity of the diamonds.Anthony frowned."It's a mood diamond," he explained. "You're sad."I shook my head, "I think it's faulty or something, right now I must be the happiest woman in the world."We ate a cute little cake Mrs. Weasley made and everyone was smiling and singing and kissing or telling jokes and I just stabbed my cake a little with my fork repeatedly. George gave me a strange look. "Why aren't you eating? It's your favorite cake, (N/N)."I looked up at him. "You let me buy candy, remember?" I lied smoothly. To be honest, I wanted my money back from Draco. Or whoever picked it up from the street. Most likely Draco."Ahhh, now I remember. We're really stuffing you up on sugar, before we know it you'll look like a butcher." I laughed loudly and nodded. The ring slowly started to turn green before the blue poisoned the happy color, too. "You better not tell Anthony that, or he might have second thoughts about marrying me."-It was nighttime and all I wanted was a nice warm butterbeer in my hands. I sat on the steps in front of George's shop, and it was snowing again. The big flakes fell silently from the sky, going pretty much unnoticed by all the sleeping shop owners' and visitors. I rubbed my hands together quickly, breathing into them, before shoving them in my pockets."Hello, (Y/N)." A familiar voice from earlier. My eyes went directly towards where the voice came from, spotting the man I had once known. "Hi." I said dully, my heart pounding all the way in my stomach and ears. He dug in his left pocket, dragging out a small box that jingled merrily with coins. I looked up at his face. "You dropped this when you fell. I'm assuming it was a present for your birthday?" I nodded. We ignored the snow that landed on the both of us, and I reached out for the box. He yanked it away quickly, chuckling through his nose a little. "How about I take you out for your birthday? Then I let you have your money back."I looked at his smirk and hid my left hand in my pocket, trying to get the ring off. It was tight around my finger, and tough to get off. Or maybe it also had a spell where you couldn't take it off.I sighed and nodded, standing up. "You know you could just give me my money and I could go to bed and we could just never speak again and just ignore each other for the rest of our lives like we've been doing for like seven years."He smirked at me and I noticed how red his cheeks and nose were in the cold. "Where would be all the fun in that?"I silenced myself all the way to the local bar which I forget the name of from time to time. It was a new bar, and they sold just what I was craving. Butterbeer. They also sold lots of muggle alcohol, like vodka and regular whiskey that still burnt your throat as it went down. I took a booth with Draco. I started to remember an old memory of Hogsmeade, but it quickly became hazy. I'm almost certain it was a bad memory. The waitress was obviously flirting while she took our order, but she saw my left hand and quit. "Are you two getting married? Your babies will be so cute." She sent Draco a million dollar smile and I rolled my eyes. "I think you're mist-" I almost told her, but Draco quickly cut me off by grabbing my hand and catching me completely off guard. "Thank you, but I hope they look like their mom because she's much cuter than me." He flashed a million dollar smile back, with perfect white teeth. I looked at his pale, large hand wrapped around mine. My skin prickled with heat as the waitress giggled like a child, before walking off to get our drinks. As soon as she was out of sight, I slowly let go of Draco's hand, only realizing I was holding it tightly."What the bloody hell was that for Draco?" I hissed at him in a low tone. "You're marrying Anthony?" He looked sad. Like a puppy that was left on the side of the road finally got to eat steak, only to find out that the steak was a plastic squeak toy.I blinked at him confusedly, the way he asked it actually seemed like he cared. "Oh, well let's see, the person I loved the most, the one who had helped me when I had murdered someone decided to leave me all alone, so he could go help a father win a losing war. Anthony made me happy again, I guess." He looked at my face, gray eyes showing a small bit of emotion. I narrowed my eyes at him as I glanced back at the ring's diamonds, all of them turning a bright red. "I was a stupid kid, you have to understand-""I was a stupid kid too," I said twirling a lock of (H/C) around my finger as I spotted the waitress coming over with our drinks. My stomach craved the warm liquid and my brain craved the alcohol. "I was stupid for loving you, only to betrayed by you."She set our drinks on the table and I angrily tapped the table. She cheerfully said, "Have a happy night!" Before giggling once again and walking off to tend to the other people at the actual bar. "So you don't love me anymore?" He looked into the cinnamon liquid of his fire whiskey. I took a sip of the butterscotch flavored beer. "To be honest, I don't even know myself. Remembering how we went through everything together and everything just...slowly fitting itself back together."His hand skimmed over the ring again, slipping it off with some ease. I questioned his face. He only smirked. "You're not happy with him, or you wouldn't be sitting in a bar with me, drinking alcohol the night he proposed."He slipped my ring in his pocket, and my head started hurting from the poison slowly taking over my brain. It was a refreshing feeling. "You left me to die." I traced the rim of the mug with my thumb, wiping off my lip gloss print."It was a bad decision, and I will never forgive myself for making it. Like I said, I was a stupid kid, and now I have my priorities straight. Straight in front of me." His hand took mine and I looked up at him; he was smirking. "I love you, Lioness."I shivered slightly."I love you too."There was a while of silence in which we finished our drinks and ordered another one."So Anthony was in Dumbledore's army.""Yes." I replied simply. I took a big drink of the amber butterbeer, the foam clouding my upper lip. I unattractively drug my arm across it."I don't remember him at Hogwarts at all. What does it feel like to love a nobody?"I tapped my glass, thinking. "I'm not sure." He let out a breathy chuckle through his nose. "Because you've never loved him."After a fourth or fifth drink, we walked out and the snow had stopped. It piled upon the ground, our disoriented footsteps imprinting the undisturbed blanket, I laughed uncontrollably at some funny story Draco was telling about when he went to America but immediately had to come back after being fed up with the people and sick from the food. Our arms were laced together, probably so we could keep each other from falling.Eventually after he ended his story, we were in front of where Draco was staying the night. Some hotel or something. I looked at him, and I felt his hand interlock with mine. He looked at me, and his free hand skimmed gracefully against my cheek, both skin surfaces were cold. But his lips weren't. When he kissed me I just froze. It wasn't because of the cold air, but because it wasn't a feeling I had felt in a while. Memories of his kisses flooded my mind, the old times. His chilled hand rested at the back of my neck, and I couldn't help but place my hands on his chest, slight gripping his shirt. Anthony's kisses were never like this.Draco definitely tasted like firewhiskey. We finally separated, and I realized how chapped our lips were. I giggled childishly and he just kissed me again on the forehead, before leading me inside to his room. There weren't any warning signals going off in my head like there should've been, it was like the alcohol had overridden all my important systems, like common sense. Suddenly, it was like a blur of yanking off clothes and changing into bed clothes, and he gave me some of his pajama pants and a t-shirt to sleep in, and it was just like a dream. In the middle of a giggling fit, he yanked me onto the bed and wrapped his arms around me tightly, and I did the same, catching my breath from laughing so hard. And before we knew it, we were out like a light bulb.-I woke up to a sharp pain in my skullThen I realized I had slept with him. Not in the bad way, but as in we just went to sleep as a tangled mess of limbs and drunk hiccups. His gray eyes suddenly shot open and bored into my (E/C) ones, as if he knew I was staring at him the whole time."What time is it?""Morning." I replied groggily. He smiled and rolled his eyes, turning over and looking at the clock on the wall. 9 AM.I got up, stretching and grabbing my clothes from yesterday off the floor, slipping off the pants he gave me. "So how was your sleep?"I laughed. "Okay. What about yours?""Fantastic."After I had slipped on the rest of my clothes from yesterday, I looked back at him. He was just buttoning up a shirt, his back facing me. And for a moment, it all seemed like a dream. I even pinched myself to see if this was all real. He was there, right beside me. We slept in the same bed together. He still loves me."I'm sorry, Lioness, but I have to go. I'll be back, alright? If you aren't here I'm going to the Weasley shop. Don't make me look like an idiot - be there." He said sternly, kissing my forehead and smiling, before elegantly walking out of the room, leaving me there.I just sat on the edge of the bed, massaging my aching temples. I really just wanted to lay back in the bed and wait for the Malfoy to return, but I knew I had to go to Anthony. I needed to show him I was okay, and that I was sorry I didn't sleep in the same bed as him, but instead I was drinking with an old friend.I continued to massage my temples all the way out the hotel or motel or whatever, all the way across Diagon Alley, and all the way inside George's shop."(Y/N)! We were worried sick about you, you just bloody up and disappeared!" George exclaimed, looking me over if I had been beaten but the bruises and scrapes and cuts were well hidden somewhere.I smiled cooly. "I went for a birthday drink.""You could of at least told us!" Ginny said, her red hair in a bun on top of her head. "Sorry." I mumbled. "Anthony's been worried sick. He's still asleep though." George finally stopped looking me over and pivoting my body with my shoulders. "He was up all night waiting for you.""Sorry." I mumbled again. "Where's your ring?"I looked at my left hand, the alarms finally going off in my head. "I must've left it at the bar."I replied, sticking my hands in my jacket pocket. Ginny and George exchanged looks. "What bar?""The new one.""Let's go look for it, (Y/N)!" Ginny exclaimed, looking worried as Hell. "Look for what?" Anthony walked from a room, rubbing his eyes. We all stared at him as he yawned and smiled at me. "Hi, babe."I forced a quick smile. "Good morning." Ginny gave me this look and pushed me out the door, towards the bar in town. I instantly grew nervous, hoping the one waitress who served Draco wasn't there. But as soon as we entered, my luck showed how it was never on my side. "There's the fiance of that one handsome man!"I smiled politely, containing my annoyance, and the pain she was adding to my headache. "Did I leave my wedding ring in here?"I knew it wasn't in there, it was in Draco's jacket pocket. And probably my birthday money, too. I helped the waitress check the booth I was at and Ginny looked confused as she rambled on about how lucky I was to marry a man like him, and how rich and sleek he looked. Anthony didn't look as suave as Draco. I suppose that's why she was so puzzled."I don't think it's here, sorry miss. It was an absolutely gorgeous ring, I hope you find it!" She smiled, flashing a white smile, with her perfect, cemetary like teeth, waving to us as we left. The cold enveloped me and I just sighed. "We'll find it." Ginny reassured. We went back to George's shop, and we all sat around and drank hot chocolate, and told stories in front of a fire. I sat in the floor, circling the rim with my thumb like I did the night before, thinking of how we would make it all work. I didn't want to hurt Anthony, but I didn't love him. And to be quite honest, he was just a temporary thing that bandaged a cut.I was just that dumb.Suddenly someone entered George's shop, the bell ringing shrilly. We all were startled. The store was closed, so we all got up to check to see what confused, shivering customer had stumbled in. I walked in last.He smirked at me. "Hi, Lioness. I brought you your things." He said it with such a boldness and I just stood there blushing like some madman as he pulled out the small box full of coins and the ring with 5, clear diamonds glimmering in the light. I walked over to him, everyone was dead silent. "Thanks I guess." I murmured, my hand grabbing for the box and ring, but he tricked me again, yanking them away from me. I started to get annoyed about how he kept doing that to me. He took my slowly processing from the alcohol as an advantage, kissing my mouth quickly.I grunted and pulled away, knowing how heartbroken Anthony would be. He had already ran off to another room. "What the actual fuck, (Y/N)." Someone commented.Mrs. Weasley went to comfort Anthony, and I sighed, Draco standing behind me. I dropped the ring on the front counter. "I'm sorry." I mumbled. "I'm sorry." I also scooted the small box on the counter too. "I'm sorry."George just stared at me, emotionless. He didn't like my decision, but he was my friend. When Draco saw the stare down we were having, he took my hand and dragged me out, kissing me in the cold air like he had been too afraid to do it again in front of them."I love you, Lioness."

"I love you, too, Draco."
