#4 - New Element

Back at the house....

"Have anything you wanna explain to us, Elena?"

"No.. Why?"

Abella shuts the door, "Why did you kiss that boy?!"

I stand up, "How do you know.."

"Because I saw it!"

"You spied on me?!"

"Yes!"

"Look Abella, it meant nothing, you can't just accuse me for falling in love with someone just from one kiss!"

"She's right." Kayla says.

"Okay.. Y-you're right! It's not like you're gonna' fall for him, he's a human!" Abella laughs.

I bite my lip, "Yea.. Human."
I sigh.

The day of Leona's 16th birthday,
Saturday.

I grab the cupcakes out of the oven and place them on the bench, I rush to the cupboard and grab all the icings.

"Okay.. What colours did she want again?" I mumble.

"Pink and blue." Leona says.

I nod, "Kay."

"But it's not like you're a professional at this stuff." She smirks.

I glance at the well decorated cupcakes, and heart shaped cookies, "Yea, hardly."

Mrs Wright enters the room, "These cupcakes look great! Now here, I want you to make these macaroons, biscuits and truffles."

She throws a bag of ingredients on the counter.

"Right."

The day passes quick, and it was 6pm, the time when guests begin arriving.

I bring the macaroons out out of the fridge, "Finally."

Faith runs in the kitchen, "Need help putting these on the tables?"

"Yes? Please."

She nods and helps me put all the sweets on the tables.

I walk outside to see lights around the pool.
Streamers and balloons were everywhere.

I glance over at Leona who's greeting a familiar face.

Grayson...

I see as she shows him around as she grabs a drink and gives one to him and one to herself.

I walk over, "Hi there."

"Ellie." Grayson smiles.

"Ellie?" Says Leona.

"It's my nickname for her." He smirks.

Leona rolls her eyes, "Ahem, Grayson would you like to join me in the pool?"

I shake my head in disgust, Wait..
I'm not jealous.

"Sorry Leona, I didn't bring anything to swim in.."

"Oh it's okay! Just jump in with your clothes!" She smiles.

"But--"

"It's my birthday, Grayson.."

"Uhm.."

"You know what Grayson, how about we head inside to finish the project.. Like I invited you here to."

Leona faces me, "What are you still doing here?"

"Oh well maybe Grayson and I have something to finish."

"Trying to steal my man?!" Leona growls.

"Your man?! Grayson? And you? Hah!"

She glares at me as I feel a force pushing me in the pool.

But just as I was about to get pushed in, the water turns to steam as I touch it, within a matter of seconds the pools water had evaporated.. With no sun.

"W-what.. You freak!" Yells Leona.

"Oh shut up Leona! For 5 years I've had to deal with your crap!"
I yell and the bushes catch on fire.

She screams, "Stop whatever you're doing! Get out! Leave!"

"Leave?! I've been feeding you your food for 5 useless years!" I yell as buckets of fuel hit the ground and catch on fire.

"Elena! Enough!" Faith runs in and grabs me, she pushes me to the side of the house with my other sisters.

"Elena! I don't know what happened, but what is going on?! Your powers.. They're awakened."

I shake my head, "Leona got what she deserved."

Kayla shakes her head, "She had the power of ice, not fire!"

"Elena calm down.. And put the fire out."

I breathe in and out, I turn to the backyard of a ruined birthday party, it was empty, everyone was inside.

My hand turns to a fist and ice surrounds the fire.

"No Elena! Put the fire out."

"Fine!!" I yell and the ice breaks, causing the fire to die.

"Okay, we need to talk, now." Faith crosses her arms.

It hit me, I just realised what had happened, my powers had come back.. But I had a new element.

"We need to somehow contact mum." Says Kayla.
