No one Pov

The afro-headed boy and the brown-skinned girl stayed quiet while the sun set across the horizon. Changing the pigment in the vast sky above their heads. Huey was curious about this girl.

Why is she out alone?

Is she running from something?

Someone?

"Can you put the music on?" The girl mentioned eyeing his radio.
Huey was locked on the road, ignoring her dumb questions.
"I'm guessing that's a no then." She sighed curling herself up in her seat.
He sighed
"Where are you going anyways?" He asked turning his head to her for a quick second.
She smiles
Wow he finally talked to me.
"Uhm, well.....anywhere the wind takes me I guess." She explained laying her feet on the dashboard.
Huey sees her feet.
Dirty....
"Put your feet down." He snarled staring at her destroyed sneakers.
She quickly removed her feet, knocking her head forward a bit. Letting her bouncy brown curls fall in front of her eyes.
"Sorry." She said as she sunk in her seat.
Huey just shook his head ignoring her plea for pity. Though, his eyes wander back to the silent girl and he suddenly felt heavy in his chest and he gave in.
"It's okay." He silently mumbled
She smiled and sat up straight in her seat.
He rolled his eyes.
"You don't have any other shoes?" Huey asked still fixated on the road in front of him.
"Uh, no."
Silence.
"So uh, Where are you going?" She said patting her legs gently.
Huey of course didn't want to answer this question

Who does she think she is?

"Don't wanna tell me?"
He sighed
"California."

Why did I tell her??

"Whoa. Why not take a plane?"
"Didn't have the cash."
"And you have enough cash for gas?"
Huey stood quiet.
"No."
She leaned in her seat.
"You look like a smart guy. And for a smart guy that was a real stupid-"

"Look, you don't know me. You don't know why I'm doing what I'm doing. So don't judge me and I won't judge you." Huey growled keeping his temper down.
He alarmed her, but she kept pecking at him.
She sat up and sucked her teeth.
"Temper temper. You will get no where in life if-"
Huey drove crazily to the side of the road.
"Ah!! What the hell are you doing??"
He heard her yell, but he didn't care.
The cars swerved out of his path honking their horns furiously.
He reached the side and parked.
He heard a deep breathing from the girl next to him.
His chest was heaving, he lost his temper.
He turned his head to the wide eyed girl.
"Get out." He gritted tightening his grasp on the steering wheel.
She caught her breath and sat up straight.
"No." She said calmly not looking at him
Huey's temper dissipated leaving a gentle scowl. He sighed.
"Look, you don't know me. Don't try to act like you care about me because I can't promise likewise." He said reaching across from her opening her door.
She looked at him and he glared back at her.
She gulped
"I think I'm gonna stay..." She said shutting the door.
Huey glared at her green eyes
....Jazmine.
There was not one day that went by when she wasn't on his mind...
He wanted to feel her soft lips, he wanted to hold her face in the palms of his hands like he used to.
He kept staring into her shiny emerald eyes and she was beginning to feel creeped out.
"Uh....you okay?"
He shook his head slightly.
"Yeah...."
"Okay then..." Julia surrendered
They ride in silence as they left the state of Missouri and into Kansas.

How many days? How many days have I been trapped in this room?
Jazmine thought pacing back and forth on the molded champagne carpet
The bathroom was horrid, she was disgusted by it.
And on the walls, There were no mirrors. No picture frames.
"Psst!"
She snapped her head behind her.
The hairs on her arms stood in panic
"Who's there?!" She yelled frantically
She began to her noises and creaks from the corners of the room. Her hands clasped her ears  trying to drown the imaginary noises from her brain.
