Caesre Pov
I wait in the dimly lit hospital lobby with Cindy.
One of the doctors gave me a loaned shirt, it had holes in it.
But it was fine fire the time being.
"Yo man...I'm really sorry about yo car. I'll have my dad fix it fo ya." Cindy said cleaning the dirt from underneath her fingernails.
Cindy tore off my bumper by riding into a stop sign.
"You could have just stayed on the road?" I ask fidgeting with my fingers, trying to ease my mind
"Look man, I'm sorry, but that sign came out of no where! I'm tellin you!"
I shake my head
I hear footsteps run our direction and I pick my head up.
It was Riley
"Reezy!" Cindy exclaimed jumping into his big arms.
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine. Granddad dropped me off." He told.
Then Cindy left his hug and slapped him hard on the cheek.
"AGH!" He yelled rubbing his face
"What the hell is the matta wit chu?! You know police out here are crazy! They coulda killed you!" She yelled making everyone in the lobby hear in on their conversation
"What's up with people hitting me today?! Damn!"
He whined, stretching his jaw.
Behind him I saw a doctor in a white coat come our way.
My eyes widen as I push Riley out the way.
"Is she okay?" I ask with a strained face.
If she is dead....I will never forgive myself.
"Her wrists were cut, draining a lot of her blood. However, we managed to do a few transfusions so she is fine."
I let out a big sigh of relief
"Yeah man! That's wassup doc!" Riley says giving him a bro hug.
"Oh thank you so much." Cindy said in her white girl voice.
He nodded his head.
"Can we see her?" I asked holding down my shaking hands.
The doctor sighs
"Well okay. Follow me."
As the doctor walks away a instantly seize up.
I can't move.
Riley and Cindy start walking away.
Cindy noticed I wasn't following and she turned her head to me.
"Caez ?"
I gulped and I began to move.
"Now remember, she is a little traumatized and in shock. The nurses haven't gotten her to speak." The doctor said turning the corner.
"Man we gots to find who did this to her!" Riley ordered, clenching his fists.
"Doctor, the wounds don't look self-inflicted right?" I ask impatiently.
"Well, I'm no detective. But from my experience no. However, if someone did this to her, the authorities can't do anything until she verbalizes to do so." He explained, reaching a door.
"Is this it?" Cindy asked with watery eyes.
He nods as the door opens.
The doctor steps to the side allowing us to enter.
We walk in quietly and I see Nala laying on the bed sleeping. There was a nurse at her beside checking her vitals I believe.
"Oh Nala." Cindy said hurrying to her, holding her hand.
The nurse left with the doctor and they closed the door.
Riley went beside Cindy and rubbed her arm gently
"It's aight Murph. She'll be okay." He assured quietly, kissing her cheek.
Cindy began sniffling as I walked to the other side of the bed and took Nala's bruised hand.
I looked at her face, her beautiful color was back. Though I could still see the bruises and cuts. I hesitantly grazed my fingers along her face gently, just feeling her skin.
Tears brim my eyes as I shake my head.
"Who did this...." I whispered.
Just then, she shot open her grey eyes and looked at me terrified.
"Nal-"
"HELP!!! SOMEBODY!!! PLEASE!!" She screamed at the top of her lungs.
"Nala it's us!" Riley yelled holding her hand suddenly.
She glared at it and began hyperventilating.
"Someone help!" I yell to the door and some of the nurses rushed in.
The nurses swarmed her as we moved out the way.
I clench my dreads in worry.
"Vitals?" One if the nurses asked
"170/95"
"Go page back Dr. Hernandez"
One if the nurses ran out the door.
"What does that mean??" I ask
"Sir please, I need you to leave." She said pushing me out the door.
"No I'm not leaving her again!" I yell trying to get her off me.
Then the doctor came
"Please leave, we need to do this. I promise we will call you back."
I look at Nala who is wide eyed, still hyperventilating
Then I look at Riley and Cindy.
I sigh
"Okay."
