Ch 13 About Damn Time

No one Pov

Jazmine turned her head back to the vent.
She swore that was a boy's voice.
She crawled yet again to the vent
"...yeah?" She whispered
She hears a sigh of relief.
Wait she knows that sigh.
No....
Of course, she was hesitant to say his name.
Because...if it wasn't him she wouldn't be able to handle it.
"H-Huey?" She asked biting her nails.
Silence.
"Yeah..."
She smiled wide and began wailing tears of joy.
"Huey! Oh, Huey I knew you would come!" She choked
Huey was trying to compose himself.
He felt a weight press on his chest as he heard Jazmine's voice through the little vent above his nasty bed.
His emotions were bouncing all throughout his body.
Aching.
He wanted to see her face....to feel her skin against his once more, but he couldn't.
He had to stay strong.
For her.
"Of course I did." He gulped, trying to contain the lump in his throat.
She began to giggle
"I'm so happy just to hear your voice..." She said innocently.
Huey couldn't help but let out a little smile.
"Me too Jazmine....I was afraid that I was never going to see you again." He said clearing his throat.
Jazmine smiled
"I knew I would see you again." She smiled
But it quickly faded.
"I want to see you Huey..."
Huey's eyes began to burn and his throat became hoarse from trying to hold in his emotions.
"I'll hold you again....I promise."
Jazmine's eyes became flooded with tears.
"Oh Huey....I don't think so..." She began to cry with her head lowered.
"Yes I will Jazmine. I won't let you go again." He muttered.
"No...they are going to kill me Huey..."
Huey felt the heat rise in his body as his nostrils flared.
"No they won't." He spoke sternly with clenched fists.
Jazmine sighs as she lays her head on yellow wallpaper.
"I'm just glad I got to hear your voice again before they-"
"Dont talk like that." He barked slapping his hand in the blue wallpaper.
He lowered his head when he heard her sniffle.
"I'll figure out something..."
Jazmine smiled
"Just leave it to you to save everybody."
"It's what I do."

Caesre POV

Damn! Nothing goes right!
I turn to Cindy who was red with anger
"Fucking assholes!!" She yelled slamming her hands on the top of her head.
The EMT that got punched by Riley rushed Nala into the ambulance
"I'm coming with you." I say stepping into the back
"No. Family only."
"Her parents aren't here! I'm here boyfriend!" I yell
I don't have time for this!
"Sir-"
I didn't give him time to finish, I pushed my self in and knocked him back.
"Fucking drive!" I yell
And the driver did.
I kneel beside Nala who had tubes injected in her veins and an oxygen mask covering her face.
My eyes began to fill again as I reached for her cold hand.
"Hang in there baby." I whispered brushing her hair with my fingers

Cindy POV

Fucking A!
I'm by myself!
Caesre left me and those dogs took Reezy!
Damn...how am I going to get to the hospital??
I look around.
the crowd had already dispersed. Leaving an empty street.
I lay my eyes on Caesres car.
I don't know how to drive...
I shrug
"Well I gotta learn some time" I convince myself
I run to the car and peek in the driver window.
"Yes!" I mutter as I see the keys still in the ignition.
I open the door and put on my seatbelt.
I let out a huff
"Aight Murph...lets do this shit." I whisper
I turn on the engine and I hear it vroom and my heart starts pumpin
What's next?
Oh right! Put that bitch in drive!
I reach for the handle but it don't move.
I groan
"Move dammit!!" I yell slamming my hands on it trying to make it move.
I bang my fists on the steering wheel
I sigh
Aight clam down....there has to be a way to change the fucking gear.
I look around the dashboard and start pressing buttons
The AC came on blowing air in my face
"Agh!"
I reach for it blindingly and shut it off.
Well that ain't it.
I press my foot on the gas and I heard the car vroom again but I wasn't movin!
"Damn!"
I press the break and I heard a click.
I raise my eyebrow and look down at the gear.
The letters were glowing and I let out a smile
"Yea yea!" I chuckle as I shift from park to drive
I let go of the brakes and I start to go.
"Wait! I ain't even puttin my foot on the gas!" I exclaim as I slam my foot on the brakes.
The car stopped abruptly and I hit my head on the wheel causing it to honk
"Owwww! Shit!" I mumble rubbing my forehead
I take a deep breath
I let go of the brakes and I begin to move
I slightly put pressure on the gas and I accelerated.
I smiled
"Aight Aight Aigghhhtttttt!"

Granddad POV

I go to the living room and turn on the tv. The channel lifetime comes on
"The hell is dis?" I ask and I begin to flip through the channels.
Then I see a whole bunch a booties on the screen and I stop
"Oooo sweet goodness."
Its BET
I whistle as the women wave they booties in front of the camera.
As I reach for my soda the doorbell rings
"Damn." I walk down the hall and swing the door open
It was Ruckus.
Damn shoulda neva opened the doh.
"Ello Robert."
I grunt
"What chu want Ruckus?"
"Ah actually came ova ta watch sum tv. Even doe ya probably stole the damn thang." He nagged as he let himself in.
"Ruckus ya fat one-eyed bastard. I didn't say ya can cum in." I say as I close the door.
He walked into the living room and sat his black ass down on mah couch.
"I hope ya took a damn showa." I say as I sit down on my recliner.
"Ah I knew ya would be watchin sum coon shit like dis Robert!" He said pointing at the black booties moving around the tv
"All dat fake ass. Ya know the white woman naturally got a beautiful booty. Just look at the Kardashians! Scarlet Johansson! Jessica Biel! Well she got da shawt end of da stick, but you get tha idea." He said
I sigh and shake my head as I take a sip of my soda.

Riiinnnngggg Riiiinnngggg riiinnnnngggg

I grunt
"What now?!"
I answer
"Hello??"
"Mr. Freeman! It's Murph, Reezy got arrested!"
"What??" I say getting up
"Yeah! Can you go bail him out?? When you do tell him I'm wit Caesre at the hospital!"
"Hospital? What the-"
"Thanks Mr.Freeman! Got ta go!"
"Wait-"
End call
I sigh
"These damn kids!"
"What now Robert?" He asked eyes glued to the booties on the screen.
"Riley got arrested." I say grabbing my keys from the coffee table.
"Oh, it was bound to happen sum time." He said leaning back.
I grunt as I walk to the door
"Just make sure ya black ass ain't here when I get back!" I yell as I shut the door.

Riley Pov

Man! These fucking dogs lockin me up n shit.
I've been here for what seems like foreva. Though I look at my watch, it's only 3.
I got here at 2.
"Damn." I whisper.
I start pacing back and forth until I heard keys rattlin from the hall. I quickly go to the bars of my holding cell and wrap my calloused fingers around them.
I see an officer come around the corner
"Aye! Get me out her man! I'm dyin!" I yell falling to the floor dramatically.
"Shut uppppp." He said as he unlocked the gate to my cell.
I raise one eyebrow as I get off the floor.
"I'm free to go?" I ask steppin out the cell.
"Yeah someone bailed you out."
"Fo'real?" I say turning my head down the hall.
It's granddad with folded arms.
"Fuck..." I say silently
"Come on! I ain't got all day!" Granddad yelled
I slowly walk up to him and just glares at me.
I give him a nervous smile
Then he took his hand and slapped me upside the head.
"AGH!!" I yell holding my sore spot
"Boy what the he'll is wrong wit chu??!" He yelled dragging my ear with him as he walked out the police station
"AGH! Granddad let go!" I cry holding my ear
"Shut the hell up!" He yelled
We reached his car, Dorothy, and he finally let me go.
"Get in the damn car." He mumbled
I sniffle rubbing my burning ear.
"Stupid ass....ol' man....thinkin he beat young Reezy..." I huff under my breath.
I got in the car and Granddad turned and slapped me again in the head.
"AGH!" I yell, again reaching for my sore spot.
"Don't think I didn't hear ya! You ain't slick nigga!"
