Ch 10 Playing In The Rain

It was night and the gang were all heading over the Freeman's house.

"Riley! Get the popcorn!" Cindy yelled coming from upstairs.

In the living room, Huey sat on the couch reading the newspaper, leaning on his fist in boredom.

I've read this already.

"Any help Huey?" Cindy asked, bringing bean bags down the stairs.

"You are a strong girl...I'm sure you are fully capable of doing it." Huey responded, clearly distracted from his reading.

The doorbell rang frantically.

Huey stood up and walked to open the front door.

It was Jazmine, she was soaking wet with droopy hair.

"C-Can I c-come in p-please?" She shivered, gritting her teeth.

Huey widened his eyes and dragged her in.

"It's raining?" He asked taking one more glimpse outside.

"Yeah! I saw three people slide down the hill today!" She shivered, taking off her wet jacket.

"Here, let me take it." He said offering his big hand.

She smiled and gave it to him.

"Hey Jazzy." Cindy smiled as she walked to her.

Jazmine glared at her and without a word turned away and dragged Huey with her.

Cindy sighed

"It is what it is."

"Aye! Julie we leaving! Lock all the doors." Caesar called opening the front door for Nala to step out.

"Wait! Where are you going?" Julia called as she ran up to him.

"To Huey and Riley's."

She gasped

"Can I come??"

He sighed and looked at Nala who just shrugged innocently.

"Aight."

"Cool let me call Koda and tell him to meet us there."

"Hell no! Do you not remember what happened?"

Julia rolled her eyes.

"They made up! Okay? Sheeshh."

"You beta not be lyin." He said as he gestured her to get out the house.

In the car Julia was texting Koda.

Julia: Koda, come on. I need to talk to you. I'm going over Huey and Riley's right now. Just...meet me there. Please?

Julia put away her phone and stared out the window.

She hasn't heard from Koda ever since the fight happened.

She didn't want to admit that she was worried, but she was willing to apologize for her behavior that day.

Of course she cared about him.

Beep beep

Koda: Okay.

Julia smiled.
