Part 2: Joe

When Demi got there to see Dean, there was another girl there getting her car fixed.

Michelle: “Hey Dean; you have a visitor?”

Dean: “Hey Dems; what happened this time.”

Demi: “Oh I got into a fight with this girl.”

Dean: “Right same old shit as always.”

Demi: “Oh shut up Dean.”

Dean: “Right anyway this is Michelle.”

Demi: “Hey; is this your car?”

Michelle: “Yep it is.”

Demi: “It’s nice.”

Michelle: “Thanks.”

Demi and Michelle got talking and by the time school was out they became good friends. Michelle’s phone started to ring, it was her brother Joe. That was the thing no one knew he wasn’t rich, everyone just thought he was.

Michelle: “Oh my phone is ringing, I have to take this sorry.”

Demi: “It’s fine.”

Michelle went and picked up her phone to answer it.

Michelle: “Hey what’s up?”

Joe: “Hey you said you were going to pick me up from school.”

Michelle: “Oh right sorry; well I had car troubles so if you can get one of your friends to bring you to the car shop then the car should be finished.”

Joe: “Ok.”

Michelle: “Great see you soon.”

Michelle got off the phone to Joe and walked back over to where Demi was sitting. About half an hour a car pulls up and Joe, Alex, Taylor and Nick all get out of the car; Demi notices them.

Demi: “Great just what I need.”

Michelle: “What’s wrong Dems?”

Demi: “Oh nothing just my brother and his friends are here.”

Michelle: “Oh with my bro too.”

Demi: “Huh, which one?”

Michelle: “Joe, why?”

Demi: “Really Joe is your brother.”

Michelle: “Yes why?”

Demi: “Oh no reason; he’s just a pain in the ass sometimes.”

Michelle: “Oh you should try and live with him.” (Laughs)

Demi: “No thank you Michelle: “(Giggles at her)

The guys walked closer and Joe was shocked that Demi was sitting next to his sister Michelle talking and joking around with each other.

Joe: “Mayte what are you doing talking to Demi.”

Michelle: “¿Cuál es tu problema.”  (What is your problem?)

Joe: “Nada.” (Nothing)

Michelle: “I’m so sorry Demi for my brother’s behavior.”

Demi: “It’s fine; I’m used to it.”

Joe: “Well hey it’s not like you guys have anything to talk about right.”

Michelle: “We have had a lot to talk about; she is a really nice girl.”

Joe: “Well Mayte trust me she isn’t that nice.”

Michelle: “Well maybe you haven’t gotten to know her better.”

Joe glances at Demi before he says

Joe: “Yea whatever.”

Alex: “Demi what are you doing here; mum is going to freak.”

Demi: “What I always come here Alex.”

Dean: “It’s true Alex; how are you man?”

Alex: “Good.”

Dean: “That’s good; well Michelle your car is fixed.”

Michelle: “Thank you Dean.”

Dean: “You’re welcome.”

Alex: “Well I gotta go and take Nick and Taylor home; are you heading home Demi.”

Demi: “Yea in a bit.”

Alex: “God Demi just go home and stop freaking Mum.”

Demi: “Shut up Alex; I’ll go when I want.”

Alex: “Fine; god I’m so sick of your shit these days.”

Alex said goodbye to Joe and got into his car with Nick and Taylor and drove them home. Michelle was about to go when she asked if Demi wanted a ride home with her and Joe.

Demi: “Thanks Michelle; but I really don’t want to go home right now.”

Michelle: “Well if you like you can stay with us tonight; that’s if you want to.”

Demi: “Thank you that will be nice.”

Michelle: “Ok let’s go.”

Joe: “You can’t be serious Mayte.”

Michelle: “Well Joe I am serious.”

Joe: “That’s just great.”

Michelle: “Oh stop being a baby.”

Joe: “I’m not a baby.”

They walked to Michelle’s car and Joe was going to get in the front seat but Michelle stopped him.

Joe: “But I always sit in the front.”

Michelle: “Well your sitting in the back with Demi.”

Joe: “Great.”

Joe got into the back of the car next to Demi, she was listening to her IPod.

Joe: “Hey what are you listening to?”

Demi was still listening to her IPod when she noticed Joe trying to talk to her. Demi pulled out her earphones.

Demi: “You want something.”

Joe: “Umm…I asked what are you listening to?”

Demi: “Oh um Akon.”

Joe: “Oh ok cool.”

Michelle started the car up and started driving home to their house in the bad side of Brooklyn. Demi looked out of the window and was shocked that Joe lived this far from school.

Demi: “Wow I didn’t know you lived this far.”

Joe: “Well now you do.” (Cold tone)

Michelle: “What didn’t Joe tell you that he isn’t rich and that he lives in a bad side of Brooklyn?”

Demi: “No he didn’t; everyone thinks he’s rich and popular.”

Michelle: “Right well sadly he isn’t and Joe I can’t believe you lied to everyone.”

Joe: “I didn’t lie, it’s just everyone thinks that I’m rich and I didn’t correct them.”

Demi: “Whatever I don’t care.”

When they got to his house Demi was shocked that it wasn’t big as people would think it was. Michelle parked the car and Joe got out upset and slammed the door after Michelle yelled at him.

Joe: “Sorry.”
