Next morning, while a timid sun was still not completely showing up, a lonely figure is walking on the empty sidewalk. He's a man around 40 - but actually looking younger, maybe because he used to keep his hair longer than the usual standard, and wearing a gym suit, completed by a cap and a sports bag. Over his shoulder, a hockey bat leans. Rob - this is his name - is quietly whistling on his way to his coaching job, as he belongs to a professional Hockey team: The Wild Wild Cats.

The man suddenly turns worried, he increases his stride and takes his cap off, trying to use it as a cover, to hide his face. Few meters ahead he takes a sigh of relief, puts his hat back and goes on his way.

"Rooooooob!!" someone shouts from behind, making the man fall into a deep sigh of anxiety

"Rooooooob!!" someone shouts from behind, making the man fall into a deep sigh of anxiety.

A curly dark-haired man reaches the other, looking pretty happy to see him.

"Hi, Jack..." Rob greets him with the look of annoyance "How are you doing?"

"Fine, thanks! Didn't you see me in the store? Obviously not, with all those flowers!"

"Obviously..." he echoes.

"Of course, if I owned a book store, you could see me better! You know, it's not that I don't like my job, but being a flower store owner... I mean... 'twas not my vocation... I would've liked better... let's see... to sing! That would be my vocation! They say I can imitate Ringo Starr very well, you know?"

"Please, I..." Rob says trying to extricate himself from that uncomfortable situation.

"And also... there's HER..." Jack dreamily says "Don't you think she's beautiful?"

"I'm married, you know..."

"Yeah, I know, how come you never introduce me to your wife? How is she? Is she fine?"

"That's none of your business!!" Rob snaps as he's very protective of his private life.

"Oh, by the way" Jack starts again as Rob's angry response did not shock him in the least "You never imagine what happened last night! They say that a monster is wandering in town! Lots of people saw it, it's a kind of shadow that goes around scar...

"Nope, I don't think so" Rob replies, still wearing a blank face and starting to walk away.

Jack stops him, grabbing his shoulder "Come on! Aren't you worried about a mysterious creature whose intentions nobody knows?"

"And what should I be afraid of? A shadow? I think newspapers should invent something better to increase the sales!"

"Oh but newspaper still didn't talk about it, those are very exclusive news I heard from some people who have seen it in first person!" replies Jack with a gesture of pride "Think what it would mean to face a scary creature that you don't know what it's going to do. A psychopathic, wicked, menacing face. I sincerely hope to never meet someone..."

"JACK!" Rob abruptly interrupts "A bee's bothering your flowers!!"

"What?" the other asks, turning back, while Rob silently sneaks off to the other side.

Jack stands for a while until he realizes he's alone on the street. Confused, he comes back to his flower store: the Fioriluna.

"What a nice human!" Mimi enthusiastically says from the top of a little wall where she, along with Sebastian, witnessed the scene.

"Yeah, like a bunch of fleas gathering on your neck!" he replies dumbfounded.

"I think you two would get along!"

"Don't try to fool me! Let's move! It's time for reporting!" Sebastian says, ending the conversation.
