It took a few seconds for the realization of what happened to hit Jamie. Throughout the entirety of this game she had been curious of what degeneration meant, and now she was about to find out. But, before she could get a closer look at the degeneration process in front of her, she had to get Jeremy, Tiffany, and herself to safety.

"C'mon guys," she half spoke, half whispered, barely audible over the noise of the room. She grabbed both Jeremy and Tifffany's hands and pulled them to a door marked supplies. Once they were safely inside, Jamie took a moment to look around for other people and found that the coast was clear.

"What the heck was that!" Jeremy spoke with panic in his voice, and started to pace the small closet.

"Obviously, it was degeneration!" Jamie's tone of voice matched that of Jeremy's.

"Jamie, I'm scared!" Tiffany clung to Jamie with all her might. If there was any time to panic, now was the time.

"It's okay hun, remember, we're here to look for a way home," Jamie cooed to Tiffany until Tiffany's grasp released slightly. Jamie sighed, and remembered that it was only a short while ago when all three of them had found their first way home. She felt like years had passed since then. Her and Jeremy didn't fight as much, and back then there was definitely a lot more hope in their plan.

"Jamie," Jeremy's voice brought her back to reality.

"What?"

"We need to get out of here and check out the situation, before we came in here I thought I saw a couple doors and I think we need to see where they lead to," Jamie sighed. The thought of leaving the safety of the supply closet was terrifying, but Jeremy was right. They came to look for a way out, and to do that they needed to move.

"Okay, but I'm not leaving Tiffany here alone," she glanced back at the young girl sitting in the corner of the closet.

"I agree, but she can't come with us, she'll be safer here."

"What if someone comes and takes her while we're gone? I know she can't come with us, but I can't leave her alone!" tears began to brim the edge of Jamie's eyes. There was no end to the battle of problems that jumped into her way.

"I'll go alone then," Jamie looked up at Jeremy. The anger she felt towards him was replaced by fear for a moment. He was sacrificing himself to whatever stood on the other side of the door while she stood in a supply closet crying like a child?

"No, you don't need to do that for me," she replied realizing how dangerous it was and how she may never see Jeremy again if he walked out.

"Why don't you want me to go, I thought you were upset at me?" Jamie then realized what the tribute was about. He thought that since everyone was mad at him that him leaving was the easiest decision for everyone, well to his surprise it wasn't.

"You're right. I was, but not anymore."

"Why not? When I yelled at Tiffany it was uncalled for, and I didn't even apologize." Jamie thought this over, but couldn't find herself getting mad at what he had done.

"I'm not made anymore because life is too short for me to hold a grudge. I'm not about to have you walk out there and possibly never come back while I sit here and sulk." she closed her eyes and prepared herself for what she was about to say next.

"Which is why I'm going out there instead of you," she waited for a reply, but none came. She looked up to instead find Jeremy walking forward with open arms.

"You don't have to do this for me," he said through his embrace.

"I know I don't have to, but I want to," it was true. It was her fault they were in the situation, her idea that brought them to the degeneration room, and her heart that told her to do this.

"Are you sure you want to do this?"

"One hundred percent sure," she broke the embrace and started to walk towards the door.

"Jamie," Jeremy ran over and grabbed her shoulder stopping her in her tracks.

"Yeah?" she turned around to find Jeremy cupping her cheeks with his hands. After a few moments of silence he kissed her. She ignored the eews of Tiffany in the background and focused on the few seconds she had with Jeremy before she had to leave.

"Be careful, please," Jeremy said once the kiss was broken. The fear in his eyes was hard to miss.

"I will," Jamie said before opening the door.

She didn't breath a sigh of relief until she found herself hiding in a dark alcove in the corner of the room located near a glass window. It appeared that the room she was in was a sort of control room, the entire front held different lights, and buttons while windows were set above those. The room seemed empty which was unusual since she had witnessed seekers enter only moments before.

"What the?" she whispered to herself, but found the answer to her question when she spotted a doorway labled stairs.

"Couldn't even get an elevator?" she thought to herself.

After a while Jamie decided from her hideout that there was no way to the outside world from that room which meant whatever the windows looked over downstairs was her only hope.

She took a deep breath then slowly raised herself to her knees where she could peer out the window above her. Even though she caught a glimpse before running into the supply closet, she never could've prepared herself for such a close look.

"Oh no," was all she uttered before the doors to the stairway opened.
