ALRIGHT SO IM AN AIR HEAD AND I STARTED WRITING THIS BOOK WAY BEFORE HADNWRITTEN CAME OUT, OK?? BUT I JUST NOW REALIZED THAT THIS BOOK IS NAMED STRINGS (used to be strings attached) AND IT HAS THE SAME CONCEPT AS THE SONG STRINGS AND WOW ok I'm done but my mInD has been bLowN
"But ari sang strings!" Yes. I started writing this book before handwritten, stopped writing it, then came back post-handwritten and wrote the rest of the book
"Yeah, you're staying in bed today." I groan at my mother, but know there was nothing I could do about it. After swimming in the cold and staying in my soaking wet clothes it was no wonder I woke up sneezing and coughing.
"Does that mean you're going to feed me ice cream?" I joke. Mom was going to work, and wouldn't be here all day.
"With a silver spoon." She jokes back, and walks out of the room, going back to the kitchen to make breakfast. I'm not sure what she was making, but by the smell I was almost positive that breakfast today would be omelets.
Rolling over I grab my phone, seeing a bunch of texts filling my screen. I scroll over them, noticing that most were from April, a few were from Shawn, and one was from Jane.
Jane:
omg I'm so sorry, I had no idea you were dating Shawn!Where did she get that idea from?
Bella:
Lol what? Who said we were dating?Jane:
April. It's literally all everyone is talking about. The first thing I was going to do was check my Instagram and Twitter. Right after that I was going to personally murder April.
The moment I open Instagram my notifications flood, and I widen my eyes at the amount of followers I had just gotten overnight. There were over a hundred comments, fifty tagged photos, and hundreds of likes.
Scrolling through my activity, I notice a few unnecessary comments, but shrug them off, knowing they were most likely fifth graders that thought they would marry Shawn.
Lickmyfeetmendes commented on your photo: "wow and I thought I was ugly."
Shoppingwithshawn45 commented on your photo: "back off of Shawn, he'll never like you."
AsprinandAshton commented on your photo: "I'm going to find your address and murder you in your sleep."
I have to admit, the last one was slightly alarming, so I quickly reported the comment and got off of Instagram, tapping on Twitter next.
Just like Instagram, my Twitter had grown popular overnight.
Instead of scrolling through all the tweets I had received, I text April saying she needed to come over asap. And a minute later, she was knocking on the door to my room.
"So, did you have fun telling Jane that Shawn and I were dating?" I ask, and she opens the door with a confused look on her face.
"What? I never said- oh. I said that you and Shawn would make a cute couple, but Jane twisted my words up, I swear on it." I nod, noticing the look on April's face. And it's not rare for Jane to twist people's words, she does it a lot.
"Well, now what do I do?" I ask, and she shrugs.
"Stay of social media for a while?"
I give her a dirty look and roll over to face the wall.
"Not to be mean or anything," April starts, and I scoff. "But why exactly are you still in bed? I thought we were going running today."
"Cough cough, idiot." I say, my voice monotone. April finally notices my red nose one I turn, and at that moment it looks like she's understood the universe.
"Oh! Well, then I guess I'm not running today. Don't worry though, because I will sit right beside you no matter wh-" April is interrupted by the sound of her phone, and she gives me a sheepish look once reading the text.
"I'm going to go scoop some ice cream, see you later though!" She says. April works at the shop we always go to, and sometimes she gets called out of no where because of how many customers there are, and how little workers they have. I worked there once when their scooper had delivered a baby, and April's boss said that anything I want to come back and work there as an actual job he would hand it to me instantly.
"Bye!" I call out, and she disappears. I begin to stare at the ceiling for a while, no thoughts entering my mind what-so-ever. I start to feel myself fall asleep until a knock my my door awakens me, and I turn to face Shawn.
"Shawn, I literally look like garbage, come back later." I tell him, pulling my blanket over my face, and he chuckles.
"No you don't. And I'm not just saying that because I'm your friend and I have to." I mentally groan at the label. One moment we're almost kissing, and the next he's calling me his old chum. What's going on in his head?
"Well, thank you, but if you're going to talk about everything on Twitter and Instagram don't bother, because I already saw it."
"Yeah, that does suck. I can clear it out if you want."
I shrug, wanting to see what he'll do. "I don't really care, it's your choice. I mean, it'll die out in a week or two."
He nods thoughtfully, as if he's making a huge life decision. I start to roll my eyes and he smiles, watching me.
"Does baby Ari have the sniffles?" He says, pouting. I nod my head, sad as ever.
"Yeah. And they suck."
"Do you want me to read you a story?" He says, and I nod, a yawn escaping my lips.
"Yes pwease." I start to laugh when he searches through the small shelve I have, filled with children's books. I thought he was just kidding, but once he pulls out The Little Mermaid I know that he's going to read the whole book from start to finish.
Shawn begins to clear his throat and I smile, knowing he was trying to make me feel happier about the fact I was stuck in bed all day. To be completely honest, Shawn would be great with kids, and should work at a daycare center when he's not being a famous singer.
"Once upon a time..." Shawn starts, and I give him a smile as he reads throughout the story. Near the middle I start to feel my eyes droop, and look at Shawn as if I'm asking if I can sleep during the story. He nods, the ghost of a smile on his lips, as I start to shut my eyes. I'm half asleep when Shawn says the two words 'The End", and I hear the door open.
"You know," my mom says softly, "maybe it's just me, but you guys would make an adorable couple."
I feel heat rise to my cheeks and try my best to sleep, not wanting to hear Shawn's reply. However I'm not so lucky, and my ears catch every word he says back to my mother.
"Yeah, we would."
