"Who was that? Why did she yell at me?" Aashima asked.
"Don't worry princess," I said.
"I will worry. She's the reason you and mom fought, isn't it?" She said.
I didn't know how to respond to that.
"Papa, you promised you wouldn't leave us. Please keep your promise,"she said.
I looked over at her. I wanted to hug her, but I was driving.
"I promise," I said.
"Thanks,"she said.
We got home and I she had fallen asleep. I had to take her out of her seat.
"Hey!" Anitha said.
"Ssshhh! She's sleeping," I said.
"Oh sorry," she said.
"Let me just put her down," I said and left.
I put our daughter on her bed. I kissed her forehead before leaving.
I'm going to keep my promise, I thought to myself as I left her room.
