Chapter Twenty

"Run!"

We ran off running through the woods. I am in front and Aster is behind me. After a while of running, I look behind me and notice that Aster is no longer behind me.

My heart starts to pick up speed as sweat forms on my forehead.

Oh no, I think, did they get Aster?

"Aster!" I yell hoping that he would hear. But nothing happens.

"Aster!" I shout again. Tears fall down my face and I crumple to the floor. He helped me get away, but then they caught him.

"Why are you crying?" A voice comes from behind me.

Aster.

I turn around and jump into his arms.

"I thought the got you," I sob. Aster strokes my hair.

"I'm okay Sage," he reassures me.

I pull away from Aster. He uses his thumbs to wipe away my tears.

I look up and notice his eyes. They are light blue. Aster catches me looking at him and smiles.

"Thanks for everything Aster," I say. But he doesn't reply.

Aster leans down and kisses me. His hands rest on my back and I have mine on his cheeks. I kiss him for what seems like hours. Then he finally pulls away.
