Holly's POV
(5 Days)

I sat on the couch all curled into a ball with the book David Rossi had written, I had read it several times in the past five days since Spencer left for a case. David was a good author but since this was his profession and he had lived through these things he could write them more vividly. I had also ordered his other books to be shipped here.

It wasn't odd for me to be alone but being alone in Spencer's apartment was odd for me. I hadn't seen Spencer in a long time or been alone in the place that was his on my own.

I tried not to jump as the door opened. I then turned and saw Spencer coming in the door. He had a sweater vest on pulled around him as he stumbled in with his bag dropping on the ground. Then he looked up at me.

"Hey." I said to him and he smiled at me. He was quite and I assumed it was from the case but there was still something off about him. "Have you eaten?" I then asked him, his head snapped up to me blinking.

"Um-yeah JJ and I went to grab some food." He mumbled and grabbed his bag before trudging to his room. I raised an eyebrow before shutting the book. I then stood up and went to the kitchen to grab some drinks. Setting it on a coaster next to his seat. I then heard the water going, he was taking a shower.

I sighed while eating a bowl of cereal, looking through any messages. Only one from my mom who was back in Oregon with my older brother Brandon, who was a basketball star in high school and out ranked my track scholarship to Caltech where I had met Spencer.

"Hey mom." I mumbled into the phone while listening for Spencer, my mom loved Spencer she thought he was a great influence on me and he was. She was also the one who encouraged the crush on him a few years back.

"Hi honey, I heard your back in the states." I sighed, I wondered who told her that considering I had only talked to Brandon before I left and hadn't told him I was leaving. "Where are you?" She asked me and I bit my lip.

"Um actually I'm in Virginia." I said to her hoping she would forget that's where Spencer lived. She didn't say anything to me at first.

"Isn't that where Spencer Reid lives?" She then asked me and I could hear the smirk on her face through the line. My mother was always a big fan of his.

"Yeah." I said in a small voice through the line. "Actually I'm at his apartment." Then I heard the water shut off. A small smile formed on my face as I added more ice too our drinks. "Mom I've got to go, Spence just got out of the shower." I said to her and I could almost hear her perk up.

"Oh okay, tell him I said hi." She said and I rolled my eyes. "I love you honey." She continued and I tried not to smile. It had been a couple years since I spoke to my mother but I always kept in touch with my brother no matter how much of a show off he was.

"I love you too mom." Then the line went dead, besides a I love you she never really bothered to say goodbye at all. Then I looked up and saw Spencer with sweats on, his hair matted down because it was wet.

"Your mom?" He asked and I nodded shoving the drink towards him. "Nice women." He added and I smiled with a small chuckled.

"She's says hi." I mumbled drinking my champagne, he broke into a large grin. My mom always treated Spencer as if he was her own. And in return Spencer liked her too. "How was your shower?" I asked him and he shrugged taking a sip of his drink.

"Good." Spencer said with a nod. "Didn't know you were a drinker." I smiled as I licked my lips before looking up at him. It was true I didn't drink at the academy but only because I couldn't at first. I joined the academy when I was 19, graduating at the age of 21, 2 years early.

"I'm not." I said to him dumping the rest of the drink from the glass into the sink. "My mom just stresses me out." I continued with a small shrug. Turning back to Spencer while he ran a hand through his water doused hair.

"I remember her always hovering over us, no matter how much she liked me." I nodded while rubbing a hand over his shoulder. He smiled at me and then paused for a moment. "Did you think about working for the BAU anymore?" Spencer then asked me, I tried not to freeze but I didn't tense, I also knew that he could read my every move. "You'd make a great profiler Holl." He commented and I nodded, he was just being nice.

"I'll think about Spence."
