That Friday there was much excitement throughout the school, as it was Quidditch tryouts. Although for Harry, it meant more detention with Umbridge. He sat a little closer to the window overlooking the field, maybe he could just catch even the tiniest bit of Ron. It was his second time in detention with Umbridge, for talking back in class over preposterous things that he was clearly right about. The more he thought about it the angrier he got. It seemed to be only him that she had chosen to discipline, even though plenty of other students had bad-mouthed her.

The Slytherin team was already out on the field when the Gryffindor got there. Malfoy pushed his way to the front and looked around at the team, " What, potter to scared to show up? not surprised actually." he proclaimed to Angeline Johnson, captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team that year.

"No, your boyfriend is not here, Malfoy," Fred said with a great smirk.

"What did you say, Weasley? I'll have you know that he is not my boyfriend, nor will he ever be. What a disgusting thought." Draco growled.

"Relax you, slimy git, it was a joke," George told him.

Angeline stepped between them as she saw Draco's temper worsening, "Actually, he got himself detention with Umbridge." she said angrily.

The Slytherin howled with laughter. " Him? saint potter? detention?" Malfoy said doubling over in laughter.

The Gryffindor ignored them as best as they could. But it was difficult to concentrate when the Slytherin kept making ludicrous comments about their flying abilities. It went on for quite some time before Angeline got irritated and told them to leave and she would tell them their results in the following week or so. They left the field in an absolutely terrible mood. The Slytherin howled in laughter as Draco whispered something when they passed.

Within only a few days, news spread that Ron Weasley had made it onto the team. Which gave Malfoy a new plan to get Harry's attention. The plan took full effect during the first Quidditch match of the year, Gryffindor versus Slytherin. A wholly stressful thought for Ron and the rest of the team, as the two houses were practically enemies. The crowd cheered and the two teams kicked off the ground.

Slytherin took the Quaffle and made two goals, then the Slytherin began to sing:

"Weasley cannot save a thing, He cannot block a single ring, That's why Slytherins all sing: Weasley is our King. Weasley was born in a He always lets the Quaffle in Weasley will make sure we win Weasley is our King. Weasley is our King, Weasley is our King, He always lets the Quaffle in Weasley is our King."

Frustrated Harry began to look for the snitch again. He spotted the golden ball over by Malfoy and raced through the teams, almost getting knocked off his broom by bulgers a few times but he dodged them swiftly. hopefully, Malfoy wouldn't notice. several breathless moments later he had grasped the ball.

The Slytherin cheered and sang their song louder. That wasn't right, Gryffindor had just won. He checked the scoreboard. Why hadn't he noticed before he had grabbed the snitch, the Slytherin had won by ten points. The rest of the team joined him down in the middle of the field, no one spoke.

Draco strolled over smirking.

"Fantastic game everyone," Malfoy said sarcastically, "you Ron were particularly magnificent, honestly, you were a huge help. what did you think of the song that I wrote, Potter? We wanted to write another couple of verses. But we couldn't find rhymes for fat and ugly — we wanted to sing about their mother, see...we couldn't fit in useless loser either — for, you know... But you like the Weasleys, don't you, Potter? Spend holidays there and everything, don't you? Can't see how you stand the stink, but I suppose when you've been dragged up by muggles, even the Weasley's hovel smells okay... Or perhaps, you can remember what your mother's house stank like, Potter, and Weasley's pigsty reminds you of it — "
