He spent the next few days watching Draco's every move from the marauders map. Although he did not do anything out of the ordinary, he did however spend a tremendous amount of time with moaning Myrtle. Whether he knew she was there with him in the bathroom or not, he did not know. He guessed that he did not know and that she was spying on him but he did not get the chance to get more information before it was time to leave for the Christmas holiday. He spent it, of course, with the Weasleys. Although his relationship with Ron and Ginny had gone downhill since his relationship with Draco started, he did not have anywhere else to go and he did not want to stay at the castle by himself.

He had attempted to convince Draco to stay with him at the castle but his mother had made a special request for him to be at home for the Christmas holiday so he chose to go with the Weasleys.

Hermione would be there, only for a few days before she would be leaving to visit her own family. In those few days they planned to get Ron's approval about Harry's relationship. Or at least mend their own relationship.

"Ron, you know if you were to ever be in a serious relationship, I would support you. Through everything I would support you. Wouldn't matter who she was you what she had done, hell, if she was mass murderer I would totally support it, well maybe not. But do you get the point that I'm trying to get across?" Harry told him one evening as the two sat in the garden.

Ron sighed, "that's great Harry. Thanks. But I'm just not sure of what I think about Malfoy. I mean, all that stuffs he's done to you-"

"It was only in attempts to get my attention." Harry interrupted.

"Yeah whatever. He just doesn't seem right for you. You are so brave and he's so, Malfoy. You are such a loyal friend and he's just so, Malfoy, you are so-"

"Alright I get, I'm great but-"

"See! Even some of his cockiness is rubbing off on you!"

"We haven't done that yet Ron."

"Cocky as in, oh God Harry, that's not... ugh!"

"I know, just playing. Ron, he's so much different around me. He's not the same. You just need to give him a second chance."

"Okay fine. But tell me. Why Malfoy? Out of all the people you could have chosen, why Malfoy?"

"I don't know. He's different from everyone else. He never treated me like the golden boy or the boy-who-lived. He treated me like Harry, just Harry. Not some spectacular child that defeated the Voldemort as a baby. He sees beyond this scar on my forehead, to me. Unlike the others who just want me because of this stupid scar he sees me for who I really am."

"I guess, I am still not going to be friends with him though."

"Alright, that's okay. I just don't want to lose you as my friend."

They spent the rest of the night de-gnoming the garden. Just as they had the summer before second year. Flinging the gnomes over the wall with such delight it was almost as if they never even spent a great deal of time not talking to each other. Eventually, Fred and George came out of the house and started a snowball fight, enchanting that snowballs to explode in their face. Ron complained about it not being fair that they were able to use magic but had stopped immediately once they called him 'a big wuss' and tossed more snow in their direction.

Cold and wet they came inside once it started to become dark, only to be scolded by Mrs. Weasley who had just cleaned the floors.

Days past and it was soon time to go back to Hogwarts. Ron was not excited and complained the whole day before. But for Harry, it meant he could see Draco again. He hoped that Draco would be willing to tell him what he had really been up to that night of the match, since the event he had been left with only the theories that his mind had created. Which was both scary and deeply unsatisfying.
