The place was amazing.

Everyone was so nice and caring. They were survivors.
Well most of them..

"Maci?"

I looked up to see a lady with short grayish hair. She seemed a little old.
"That's me." I smiled.
"Let's chat.." She smiled.
I nodded as I followed her in a building.
I sat down and she had a camera.

"Mind if I film?" She ask.
"Sure you can..." I said.
She pressed a button and a red light came on.
"I'm Deanna." She smiles.
I nod with a smile.
"I'm just gonna ask you some questions and if you don't want to answer then that's okay.." She says.

I nod once again.
"What's your name?" She asks.
"Maci Thomson." I said.
"How old are you Maci?" She asks.
"I'm not sure...15?" I say.
She nods.

"Where are you parents?" She asks.
I sighed.
"I don't have any." I said.
"What happened to them?" She asks.
"I've never met them. I've been in and out of foster homes all my entire life." I said.
"Wow." Is all she said.

I leaned back against the couch.
"Do you know anything about them?" She asked.
"All I know is that they had me when they were 16 and then they never wanted to see me again." I said.
She looked at me and her eyes showed that she felt bad.

"What do you think of...this place?" She asks.
"It seems nice. It's like a family kind of place." I said with a small smile.
She smiles.

"Most people in this world don't wanna live. Especially once they have no one.. Why are you still here? You don't have a family and you've always been...independent." She said.
I gulped.
"In my foster home, I wasn't free. When I tried to leave..I was beaten. I barely ate when 'I was bad'. But now that this world has came, I'm free to do whatever and go wherever." I said.

"I'm so sorry." She shook her head.
I smiled.
"One last thing...what do you like to do?" She asks.
I laugh.
"I'm an independent person because of the stuff I've been through. I love to do a lot of things, I'm not picking. I'm good on runs..I can use a knife pretty good...I love outside...and I love animals so much too." I smiled.
"We have a horse that needs taking care of." She said.

I smiled so happily.
She smiled at me.
"How about you get yourself fixed up then I'll show you the horse." Deanna looked at me with a smile.
I smiled and nodded and she turned the camera off.
Deanna lead to me to a house. The 2 men we're inside.

"Rick...Carl...?" Deanna ask.
They turned around and I smiled.
Carl . That was his name.
"Can Maci stay with you guys? Your the only house with an empty room." She asked.
Carl nodded and looked at Rick.

"I don't see why not." Rick smiled.
"Great." She smiled.
Deanna hugged me and I smiled and hugged her back.
"There good people." She whispered.

I was really hoping it wasn't gonna be like all the foster homes again.
