Chapter 15

3rd POV:

Kakashi glared up at the ceiling, cursing everything for his current predicament. He remembered it vaguely: blood, a rusted kunai and... Naruto. He bit at his lower lip as the masked shinobi struggled against the restraints.

A tall blond entered briskly, her face a mask of disbelief, worry and fear. The Hokage gripped her clipboard tightly, the wood protesting and splintering from her grip, before she poised herself and relaxed her arms. Tsunade checked his vitals and fixed his I.V., since it was pulled out in his struggle, before gathering the courage to speak.

"Kakashi...," She glanced down at him in disapproval. The Slug Princess cleared her throat before continuing. "do I need to tell Naruto about this?" Kakashi glared at her and bared his teeth.

"Don't you dare." He growled, jerking roughly in his bindings. She shoved him back towards the bed, knocking the breath out of him and restricting his breathing. He weezed and looked up with a hint of fear in his eye, his brows turned up in surprise.

"Don't speak to me like that, I'm still your Hokage." She paused before backing up and shuffling through some papers. "And I can't tell him anyways.. he has enough to worry about as it is." The copy ninja looked up at the ceiling in guilt, worrying at his lip. "Gai was worried." The jounin turned his head away from the imposing woman, his expression torn with guilt and sorrow. "You're selfish, you know that?" Tsunade stated and let out a heavy sigh. "Naruto wouldn't want this."

Kakashi turned toward the slug princess, a look of grief present in his eye. "I know."

"He'd want you to be happy... To continue on without him and to protect the village... Maybe even pursue his dreams in his place." Kakashi turned from Tsunade yet again as his eyes grew damp. He choked a sob, tears trailing quickly down his cheek.

"It's--it's all my f-ault" He stuttered through his shaky breaths. Tsunade brushed his bangs to the side, shushing the man softly.

"It's not your fault... You did nothing wrong." Kakashi bit his lip and clenched his fists, attempting to control his breathing.

Kakashi trained his heated glare at the cream colored carpet from his seat on the plush couch, his clenched fist threatening to tear the gentle threads of the pillow and expose the stuffing. The masked ninja cocked his head up at the gentle call of his name.

"Kakashi," Said man narrowed his eye at the calm gentlemen in front of him, wishing that his glare could burning him to ashes. "are you ready to begin?" The man's voice was gentle and his gaze relaxed, but Kakashi could recognize the calculating and careful look underneath the exterior. The man, who had addressed himself earlier as Odayaka, had his pen poised, ready to record any sign of mental illness or threatening behavior. The man was his therapist, though he had argued that he didn't need one, but it was either this, or living with Gai until further notice. This was the obvious choice.

Kakashi grunted, and turned his head towards the ceiling and forcibly relaxed his tense posture. He vaguely sensed a familiar presence above him... an ANBU? Someone he worked with before? He pulled at a loose thread from the couch. Tsunade sent someone to spy on his session. He gave a humorless chuckle, and turned back to the therapist.

Odayaka was a tall man, his dark hair in thick curls that nestled behind his ears, a few wisps covering his forehead. The man's eyes were a deep green, and his skin a creamy brown. He was currently sitting cross-legged, an ocean blue sweater hanging loose on his thin form, behind a coffee table across from Kakashi. Odayaka had an amused glint in his eyes as he addressed the Copy Cat ninja once again.
