'We've reached our destination, we'll land in 5 minutes. Please head towards the exit in a civilised manner. Thank you.'
The voice coming from the speaker was now silent, and so went my heart beat.

We were about to land in this new country that I know nothing about other than what I've read online. Are the Americans really as cool as shown on TV? Or are they just creative when it comes to writing a script?
I was lost in my thoughts when I finally realised two ladies crossing by me towards the exit, it's when I figured out that we landed.

"This is it."
I heard dad saying grabbing my mothers' hand.

"There's a new life waiting us, just behind the walls of this airplane."
Mum smiled, then glanced at me.
I pretended that I didn't acknowledge neither the conversation that was going on between them nor her staring at me. I crossed my eyebrows and got up. I was heading out with or without them. It's not that I'm THAT excited to see the country, but I just wanted them to know that I was upset about us moving here.

"Melody wait!"
Mum cried behind me, I paused for a second then turned around in response to her yelling. I was mad, not impolite.

"Wait, we're coming with you."
She finally said smiling when I turned facing her.

"It's fine, I know how to get off a plane. I need to get used to traveling alone for when I travel back to the UK next year for collage."
I glanced at them both then headed out.

I heard them whisper something but I didn't quite understand.

-------------------------------
I was done catching my bags and I was heading out. My parents were behind in line.

I walked out the airport exit and the first thing I looked at was the sky. It wasn't anything like that in the UK. And the weather here is way warmer. I missed my friends, I needed to head back home. As I stared at the exit waiting my parents to head out, a family of two children walked out. A teenage boy about my age, and a cute little girl who's almost 6 or 7 years old. As they walked out the little girl caught me staring, so she waved at me. I smiled and saluted her back, her brother then turned around and looked at me, he smiled and nodded then walked away. If there's anything that'll help me go through this living hell is knowing that people like him exist somewhere here. He was tanned, but not too tanned. He had glittery eyes, I saw them glitter about 5 meters away which means they were relatively shining, he was tall but a little too thin, which made me feel bad about myself and how my body looked like compared to him, he had brunette hair that was fairly tall, but not shoulder tall, he looked just a little too cute to be real. He wore a beanie even tho the sun could roast a chicken if put on the sideway.

Lost in my thoughts and my day dreams about that guy, my parents finally walked out. I saw my mum pointing at me and dad followed her with the bags.

"Let's take a cab home."
Mum suggested.

"House. Let's take a cab to the new house we'll be inhibiting for the next few months."
I corrected her. She ignored me and walked away with dad who was now talking to a cab driver.

"Hop in."
Mum ordered.

I jumped in and said nothing all the way home. It was a two hours drive, it broke my back. Soon, the driver pulled over next to a building where apparently our apartment landed. To be fair it did not look bad, I couldn't let my parents know that I admire it tho.

It was a tall red brick building with lots and lots of windows. From the inside it was very well designed, the floor the stairs and the elevator. Each floor possessed two apartments, so I guess we'll have to be friendly neighbours. The elevator landed at the 6th level, where apparently our house was.
