In the Waters

These wonders with fins

Are so gorgeous.

Their very existence thins.

They dwell in blue water.

But they long for the land.

Wouldn't you rather?

They seduce us with their voice,

Deep into the waters.

We don't even have a choice.

With all their might, they wish

To be like us.

They say goodbye to our lives with a kiss.

They envy us for our legs.

With desperation,

One relentlessly begs.

But... "No," we mumble.

They hate us.

And our last breath leaves in a bubble.
