Chapter 4: Not Time for Celebrations

I apperate out of the the Potter residence and head to my house to calm down. I have always hated that house on the end of Spinners End. Number 13 the always unlucky number. The house I grew up in. The house that was never my home, too many scaring memories.

Hogwarts has always been more of a home, a safe haven to me, but most classes have been canceled for the day to remember the lost in the war just ended. A day to remember those lost, and give freedom to those who are left. The students and teachers get a break as a brief celebration that the war that has been fought for over seven years has finally reached a stand still. Sure death eaters are out their, and want to avenge their masters dorm fall, but they are the minority of people. Some death eaters even saw that Voldemort was crazy, a lier and needed to be defeated, but we're too deep in the darkness to be able to be saved by the light. Sometimes it is too late to be saved. You can't save everyone no matter how hard you try.

It is dangerous to apparate when you are emotional and distracted, but I don't care if I get splinched now. I want to die. My best friend and only love is dead, what is left to live for? Everyone who has cared for me, and didn't intentionally, or not screw me over, and treat me like a pawn in their boring chess match is dead. Stone cold, dead, gone for good.

Surprisingly, and unfortunately for me, I land at my destination completely unscathed. Quickly I collapse on my black leather sofa and, grab a bottle of Firewhiskey,to drown my sorrows. Soon,I fall into a deep alcohol induced sleep. I dream of Lily,my guardian angel, and other cryptic messages arise. Luckily no dancing Zebras, or annoying 80s pop songs that get stuck in your head this time though. I am lucky not to have nightmares this night.

The Dream
"Sev...wake up."says Lily.

She looks so young. So beautiful. I look up at her and see her angelic smile, that you couldn't help but, smile back.

"Be strong Sev. Look after my son for me. Care for our kitten. I trust you. Severus Tobias Snape I have always loved you. Goodbye my friend. Jinx is looking for you."says Lily before she disappears in a cloud of smoke.

"Lily don't go. I LOVE YOU!"

Severus yelled at Lily but,she was gone in both reality and dreamscape.

End Dream

That was a strange dream. Jinx is looking for me? He remembers? I look up at the clock. Seven AM.I left Lily three long hours ago. A tear slips out of my eye. She's gone. Lily's gone, and never turning back.

I dress in some old jeans and a black sweatshirt over a torn green button down. I look like a mess but,I honestly don't care. I have nobody left to impress. I'm mourning, and people should respect that.

Striding out of my house and see people dressed all in there cloaks. Stupid Wizards, not even trying to blend in. Do you want to get us exposed? The Dark Lord vanishes and now the Statue of Secrecy is at risk of being exposed. As one evil is defeated, another arises.

I hear a familiar voice from behind me. "Come to celebrate? The Dark Lord's gone. They did it that evil noseless git is DEAD! Too bad the Potters died though. Such a tragedy. Many have died in this war. But,whatcha gonna do? Death is a necessary evil in life, and their sacrifice freed the rest of society." said the voice.

I want to punch the owner of that voice. Victims of war just a statistic. Dancing on freshly dug graves. Do you have no decency? Of course the man didn't know of my passion for Lily, nobody except I did. Lily was only one of the many tragic losses in the war, on both sides. He should have been more sensitive because everyone alive today at least knows one of the dead personally.
