I waited like Rapunzel in my tower
And searched for my Prince Charming
In all the wrong places.
I waited for my Superman
To sweep me off my feet
And save me, the damsel in distress.
I waited for my knight in shining armor
To ride in on a white horse
And save me from myself.
I waited for a hero
to bring the happy ending
to my tragic story.
But I never understood until now
That sometimes
The only person who can save you is yourself.
