Sixteenth

Sweat drizzled from her forehead before it poured on her nose, bit glad they weren't blood. Her sight scanned every piece of everything inside the room and a wave of calmness came. No weird crawlers or even a drop of horrible oddity. But, it wasn't her eyes that can't see. It is herself who can't feel, not until the warmth of the hug intensified.
After all, before she slept, she knew she's alone. Her eyes trembled with fear and her skin can't bare the burning heat. She dared to look up and saw him – the man who desperately loved her before he died.
His skin slowly melted, leaving his flesh exposed. The red is so bright it flared before her eyes. The eyeballs were so near to move out from their sockets. His hands slither around her arms and through her feet. He dragged her out of the bed and into the burning hole that suddenly erupted out of nowhere on the floor.
Rodents, insects, and snakes burst from the fiery and stuffed her mouth, muffling her attempts to scream for help. She heard a laugh so deep her ears bleed. Half unconscious, she barely saw his figure against the orange light sink in the fired hole where dark shadows seem to escape.
His body eventually dried as half of him dipped on the hole, her feet dissolved except bones. Dark smoke burned her nostrils and the smell of the dead suffocates. After a moment, more hot arms grabbed her as she struggled to break free. Her fingernails shattered as she scratched them on the floor. She melted painfully, flesh by flesh, bone after every bone. Those horrible creatures left her mouth but she can't scream anymore. She groaned and moaned in deep despair.
"Mommy!"
Little Angel, her daughter wakes her up. She gasps as Angel gives her a glass of water.
The ghosts of her past still haunt her.
