Plans were falling into place on Saturday night across the village as the majority of teenagers jumped at the chance to go out for the night. Most kids were trying to get fake ID and join in the with the crowd, following along to clubs and bars just to fit in. It was a light night, quite warm and one of the last weekends before school ended for the summer. Which was also the last weekend of school altogether. Forever

Harry and Lola were no different than the others as they made their own plans with friends. Jackie had taken care of Lolas concerns about not getting in anywhere, and after a word around, a bouncer from a popular local club guranteed them both entry.

"It's a talent" Jackie bragged "Talk my way into anything girl, we're in. Saturday night, prepare to get hammered"

Harry was planning on going out as usual, with a group of his friends, girls and guys. They usually headed to a complex of bars, clubs and pubs. He stood infront of the bathroom mirror, ruffling his curls into place, wearing a simple ramones t-shirt and black skinny jeans.

He hummed a tune as he brushed his teeth, seeing Lola emerge from her room out the corner of his eye. He spat his toothpaste into the sink and turned his head to her, seeing her dressed in a short black dress and cream suede wedges. He gulped slightly and tore his eyes away from her long slim legs to her face which was fully finished with precise sophisticated make up.

"Where are you going?" he asked, clearing his throat and avoiding eye contact as she looked him up and down.

"Out, see you later" she said bluntly, going to turn away

"Wait"

"What?"

"You er...don't forget your key. My Dad's up at six for work tomrrow, don't er...wanna wake him up" he said, trying to stop his eyes from glancing back down at her legs. Why did heels have to make girls legs look so long and toned? And more importantly, where did Lola suddenly get hers from?

"Sure" she replied simply, not taking a second thought as she carefully stepped down the staircase, Harry watching her from the bathroom. She held onto the railing to avoid falling over in her wedges, the hem of her playsuit rising up slightly and revealing the upper most part of the thigh.

Harrys initial reluctant thought was how perfectly smooth her skin looked, hardening his grip on the toothbrush and shaking his head to rid of his thoughts. Innapropriate. It's Lola for fucks sake. He held onto the sink and looked up at himself in the mirror, the black of his eye dilating slowly. He felt like the reflection in the mirror was staring him down, trying to tell him something tonight was going to change.

**

"This is mental" Lola said, clinging onto Jackies forearm as she stumbled through the dark club, green strobe lights flashing around the room as people jumped up and down violently to music thumping through the room. Jackie could barely hear her friend over the sound, her ears ringing slightly.

"Come on, you need a drink!" Jackie laughed, pulling Lola through raving bodies by the wrist. Lola stumbled over her feet, tripping slightly as she followed.

"Ow, someone just elbowed me" Lola complained, rubbing her side.

"Man up, here have this" Jackie said, sliding a shot glass across the table to her. Lola eyed the small volume of liquid suspiciously and bought it to her lips, throwing her head back. The liquid burnt her throat slightly as it slid down, and she could feel the tingling taste left on her lips.

"Good girl, one more" Jackie winked, taking one herself.

"Where did these even come from?"

"Lovely lad over is off his face, bought a 24 tray full of shots and passed out before he finished three"

"Thief" Lola fake gasped, shuddering as she downed another glass. Jackie smiled impressed as she slammed her shot glass down on the table.

"Come on, I wanna dance" she said, grabbing Lolas hand. Lola stumbled up and followed to the dancefloor, bumping lazily into hard bodies that were jumping around the floor, knocking into her.

The lights flashed quickly, Lola's eyes falling heavy and creating longer blinks. She shook her head and ran her hand through her hair, feeling the beat of the music run through her and her head spin. The club was hot, sweaty drunk bodies merging together in a dark loud place.

Lola felt an arm curled around her waist, assuming it was Jackie. She looked up to see a stranger looking back at her, smiling in amusement.

"Does a beautiful girl like you have a name or shall I just call you gorgeous?"

Ugh. Lola already felt queasy without listening to awful chat up lines. She took a look over this guy flirting with her, noticing through her wobbly perceptions that he was actually quite attractive. Sandy blonde hair, dark marble brown eyes and a slim jawline, rather large muscles which wasn't usually her thing. But she figured she was too fussy with everything, and needed to let her hair down.

"Lola" she spoke in his ear, making sure he could hear her over the loud piercing bass.

Meanwhile in a pub on the same complex across the road, Harry had met with Zayn for the first time since him and Lola broke up. They were all out with friends together, and Zayn wasn't sure what to say.

Harry sat beside Laura, who invited herself along to stick by Harry, much to his dismay. He was content with her company the other day, but frankly she was irritating him a little now. Her arm wound inbetween his every ten seconds, resting her chin on his shoulder or slipping her hands into his back pockets, trying to seek contact with him. He loved an eager girl usually, when there was the potential for sex. But Laura was only a friend, and he didn't have much interest in pursuing her sexually.

"I'm just going outside for a minute" he told her. Harry sloped off out the doors to the outside garden area, benches scattered with a few smokers getting some fresh air. Harry enjoyed the cooler night breeze on his arms and licked his lips, hearing the bass from a club a few yards away.

Zayn followed secretely, sitting himself beside Harry on an empty bench. He pulled out a lighter and pack of cigarettes, offering one to Harry.

"Hear you joined the dark side?" he joked, seeing Harry manage to break a smile as he pulled one from the packet.

"Helps....a bit" he said, placing the long thin cigarette between his puffy pink lips. He concentrated hard on the end as he borrowed Zayns lighter, flicking it with his thumb until it ignited and a cloud of smoke blew out.

"So.." Zayn started

"Lola told me she broke up with you" Harry said, knocking the built up end of his cigarette lightly onto the edge of the ashtray before bringing it to his lips again.

"I don't even think we were going out, so she never really broke up with me. Just....stopped it before it started I guess" Zayn replied casually, blowing a cloud of smoke smoothly from his lips up into the air. The grey mist contrasted against the dark blue night sky, wafting upwards into the lanterns glowing over the beer garden.

"Look man, I know you didn't like me being with her and stuff" Zayn shrugged "But I don't think we should let it fuck up our friendship y'know"

"It won't" Harry replied, adjusting his wristbands to fully cover him up. "Although I am gonna have to kick your ass in the match next weekend" he grinned

"You fucking wish" Zayn laughed

**

Lola had been dancing with this guy, his name was Sam, for a while. He'd whisper in her ear how good she looked, and gave her a few kisses on the lips when she was close enough, making Lola blush under the dark light. She began to feel dizzy, her shoes were rubbing harshly against her toes and she needed another drink. Jackie had dissappeared and Lola worried that she might have to go look for her, incase she couldn't find her later to get home.

Lola pulled out her phone just to make sure she hadn't missed any text or call from her

'See you found a new friend ;) I found Sara so ring her if you need me, low batery xxxxxx'

"I need some fresh air" Lola said.

"Let's get out for a bit then yeah?"She felt the guys hand take hold of hers and lead her out towards the exit. She bit her lip and grinned as he looked over his shoulder to her eagerly, giving her a cheeky smile.

There was a crowd of people lining up to get entry to the club, and a path on the other side where people exited. When they walked further down the path, a pub on the same complex came into view. Lola took a glance and did a double take when she saw Zayn sitting in the beer garden.

'Wait, is that him? Or am I just really drunk' she thought to herself, squinting to get a clearer view. Zayn caught someone staring from a few yards away and could tell it was Lola simply by the cute awkward mannerisms.

He felt a little awkward himself, unsure of how to behave around her now. Sure, they'd agreed to be friends but everyone always agrees that. He noticed she was with a guy, he looked a few years older, and seemed a little impatient as Lola contiuned to look over to Zayn across the road.

Lola felt a hint of guilt as she realised Zayn was seeing her with another guy a few days after she broke up with him. She didn't want to give him the wrong impression, or like she couldn't wait to move onto someone else. It wasn't like that at all. She still cared about Zayn but knew it was best that they were apart now.

Zayn simply gave Lola a nod of acknowlegement. Lola lost her footing on the curb and stumbled heavily, cracking a tipsy laugh as Sam caught her by the arm. She reached up and put her hands on his neck, pressing her alcohol tinged lips against his as she tried to cease her giggles.

Sam eagerly kissed back, his hands on Lolas lower back. Zayn saw them kissing out the corner of his eye and chose not to look, but he couldn't help it. He glanced over and saw the guy grab Lola's hand and tug her along with him, a little too briskly as she struggled to keep up in her high shoes. Her face changed from amusement to dismay as she attempted to pull her hand away from his firm grip.

Zayn felt slightly anxious. He got a weird feeling about this guy, just from the way he was handling her so carelessly. He looked a lot older than her too, atleast in his early 20's. Like he wanted to fuck and dump her, like he must have done many times before. But Lola was a vulnerable, innocent girl. She couldn't handle that.

Zayn got up from his seat on the bench, dropping his cigarette and twisting his shoe over it on the ground. He blew the last smoke from his mouth before heading back inside, a frown on his face.

It wasn't really any of his business, but he cared about Lola. And if he suspected that she would be taken advantage of, there's was only one person here tonight that he could tell. Since they were practically siblings now, he headed back up to where their friend were sitting, requesting a quiet word with Harry.

**

The cool air hit Lola like a ton of bricks, washing over her warm skin refreshingly. The breeze blew her long blonde strands a little and she felt Sam entwine his fingers tightly between hers, almost painfully.

"Let's go round here, it's quiet" he murmured, tugging Lola along with him a little too briskly as she struggled to keep up in her high shoes. He led her around to a small alleyway, it was dark and empty, a black binbag lying on the ground.

"Wait I-" her sentence was cut off as he forced her up against the wall, roughly pushing his lips against hers. Lola tensed all her muscles as an inital reaction, her eyes still open as she tried to figure out what was happening. She felt his large hands roam her hips, his damp mouth opening wide as he tried to kiss her roughly, failing to get the eager response he wanted. Lola was unimpressed by his kissing and tried to push Sam away gently.

Their lips parted and the way Lola's jaw had fallen open with shock was mistaken for pleasure as Sam grinned devillishly.

"Like that do you? You're so hot" Sam growled, his cold palm landing flat against the back of Lola's thigh. He gave the hem of her dress a tug as he sloppily pushed his lips against hers again, a small squeal escaping Lola's throat.

"Yeah you do baby" Sam answered himself, speaking into Lola's skin as he roughly handled her, hands roaming up her dress. "I want you"

"Wait stop"

"No, come on babe" he grunted, the sound of his jeans unzipping echoing through the small alleyway. Lola grasped the end of her dress with both hands, holding it down desperately and trying to stay calm as she refused to go any further.

Sam was stronger though and shoved a hand up her dress, his callous fingers hooking beneath her underwear around her hip. He gave it a small tug, causing Lola to cross her legs tightly

"No-"

"Argh, playing hard to get?" he groaned into her neck, make her shudder with discomfort as she lost all attaction she had to him. She could feel the salvia from his damp lips and slightly rough bristle scratching her skin. Lola felt her throat constrict slightly with panic, praying he would stop.

"No I don't want to!" she squealed

"Oh shut up you stupid bitch, you were all over me in there, dont act like you don't want this" he murmured raspily into her neck, pulling her hips towards him grinding his crotch agianst hers.

"Stop it!" Lola shoved him hard but he grasped her wrists, pinning them either side of her head on the wall. Her wristbones knocked against the solid brick causing an shooting pain. He pulled his jeans down far enough to free himself. Lola felt her eyes begin to sting as his fingers caressed the skin around her crotch.

The image of Zayn back at the pub flashed into her mind and she wished she'd gone over to him, her mind suddenly sobering up as reality hit her. Her friends were merely a few hundred metres away and she couldn't ask them for help.

'This is it. Just my luck' she thought, a tear escaping her eye and rolling down her cheek. Her lower lip trembled as she heard his heavy pants, trying to spread her thighs and make it a little easier for himself to gain entry.

"Get your fucking hands off her" a familiar husky voice spoke from a few metres away. She knew it was Harry straight away and could have cried with relief. Lola and Sam's head snapped to the side, both demonstarting opposite emotions. Lola was terrified, yet thankful someone had found them before it was too late.

A cruel laugh escaped Sams mouth as he kept Lola pinned up to the wall. She looked at Harry, seeing the same look she'd witnessed him give her many times before. That angry, clenched jaw, furrowed eyebrows. He was balling his fists by his sides. Except this time, she was relieved he was taking it out on someone who deserved it.

"Yeah or what?" Sam laughed

Lola winced as she heard the shuddering crack as Harry's fist collided with Sams cheek. He let out a groan in pain, doubling over and holding his nose. He looked back at Harry in disgust, looking back at his palm as a trickle of scarlett blood rolled from his nostril.

"What the fuck?!" he responded, slamming his foot into the metal dustbin lying over in the alley. Lola jumped with fright at the sound, fearing as the two lads bubbled over with anger. Sam stepped over to Lola again, tugging her by the hip and causing Lola to give Harry a pleading look for help. She knew they still weren't best friends, and never would be, but she prayed he didn't just let this psycho have her.

She prayed the heart she knew was hiding somewhere inside him would react to help her.

Harry saw how possessively and carelessly this guy was handling her and felt his blood boil. Until he suddenly realised that there were many times he'd been that guy, he'd been the one causing that look of pure fear in Lola's face. He'd been the one inflicting pain on her, making her feel like something on the bottom of his shoe.

"She's with me mate so fuck off yeah?"

"No she's not" Harry stated, standing opposite the pair. He looked at Lola, his dark green eyes intense with control, trying not to lose it. "You're with me... aren't you?" he spoke clearly, emphasising each word and sending her mental messages to agree.

Lola nervously shook her head, trying to wiggle free from Sams grasp.

"Fuck off, you're a little pathetic whore and not worth the effort anyway" Sam scoffed, giving Lola a dirty look. He shoved Harry in the arm as he walked past him, spitting on the ground as he exited the dark alleyway.

Lola breathed a sigh of relief, her heart pounding beneath her chest. She felt the lump in her throat, and her shoulders began to shudder as she bought her hands up to cover her face. She took a deep breath to stop herself crying with shock and felt Harrys eyes locked on her as he stood close. She could see the silouhette of his soft curls and feel the warmth of his body beside her, so relieved he'd found her in time. Even if it was Harry, atleast someone had arrived to help her.

"Are you okay?" Harry asked, never taking his eyes off her. Lola's faultered breaths ceased and she smoothed down her dress, running her hands through the ends of her hair.

"I-i'll be fine" she croaked, forcing a fake smile. She couldn't believe how much the roles had changed, Harry was the guy usually causing her such fear, not helping her escape it.

"Do you want to go home? Or do you want to stay out?" he asked, pressing his palm into the brick wall beside him, leaning his weight into his straightened out arm.

"It's fine...you're staying out right"

"I...er...could, take you home?" he scratched his neck "If you wanted to leave. You're night's been ruined"

"My fault, again I guess"

"Again?"

"It's always my fault right?" Lola said with a bitter tone, giving Harry a strong knowing look. He understood that she was referring to times he'd told her the pain he'd caused her was her fault. 'You brought it on' 'I only did this because you made me'

Harry gulped and shook his head slightly, but not enough to Lola to see.

"I will...take you back then i'm going out again" he said, knowing it was the right thing to do. She had practically almost been raped, yet she was holding her composure well. He didn't know how she did it, then realised his own abuse had probably given her plenty of practise at being strong.

Lola rubbed her forehead and forced a weak appreciative closed lip smile "Thanks"

Harry slowly turned, gesturing Lola to follow as they headed down the end of the alley. It was dark, and shaded. His knuckles ached slightly from the punch and he shook them to ease the joints. The sound of the bass from the club was still audible and the laughs from drunken people roaming the streets.

Lola noticed Harrys individual posture as he walked, so recognisable from behind. His broad shoulders slightly hunched, hands shoved in his pockets. He'd make a loose fist and bring it to his mouth as he cleared his throat, before licking his lips and readjusting his chesnut colour curls.

Lola looked down at her feet, unconciously running her hand over the healing wounds on her thigh. She felt like the filthy touch of Sams hands on her legs had reopened the wound, hearing and feeling it begging for attention. She knew she shouldnt, she couldn't, but cutting was the only thing that appealed to her right now.

It was almost like he read her mind. She felt Harry stop infront of her and turn around, his facial expression demonstrating an urge to say something. He dug his teeth into his lower lip and Lola looked over his shoulder, seeing that they were reaching the end of the alleyway, but not quite there yet.

She tensed as she felt Harry place his hands on her upper arms, looking her directly in the eyes. She felt her back bump against the wall as he turned her, still keeping his palms on her arms loosely.

"I...I-I really am sorry"

"Wh-"

"No let me finish. I didn't know okay. I didn't realise what i'd become! You know that don't you?" he asked desperately, his deep monotone voice laced with the Cheshire accent.

"Y-yes" Lola could only reply, not knowing what he was doing

"But.. tell me you haven't cut yourself over me since" he said, keeping her eye contact as his fingers found her thigh inbetween them, searching for her scars. Lola could sense his cologne waft under her nostrils, and that unique scent to his skin. He was so warm close to her, the tips of his shoes touching the tips of hers.

"I...I haven't" Lola stuttered, her eyes falling down to her legs, where Harrys hand had slipped between their bodies, his thumb rubbing her damaged skin. "I've been a little focused on making you feel better"

A crease formed between Harrys eyebrows as he heard her words. He didn't realise she was still aware that he was grieving, or that she wanted to help in some way. He couldn't figure out why though, she had absolutely no reason to want to make him feel better. If anything, that should be the last thing she wanted to do.

"Let me ask you a question"

Lola nodded

"Why do you care so much?"

Lola gulped and realised how confrontational this was. She didn't even ask herself that question because she didn't realise until now how unatural it was to actually care so much about helping Harry. She'd provided him with words of condolence and comfort, advising him and doing what she could to help him through his stepdads death. She didn't owe him any of it. She just felt so obliged to do it

"I..I can't help it" she blurted, feeling like now was the time to say what she really thought "Despite how much I hated you and how I have no reason to give you the time of day..." she started, shutting her eyes momentarily and swallowing hard, before looking back in his eyes. "Since Andy died, I don't know...I mean, I just" She felt her voice wobble as she opened her mouth, her lower lip trembling. Truth time "I jj-ust..love seeing you happy"

Harry felt a small flutter in his abdomen at the feeling of being appreciated, and wanted. He'd not had that properly before, from someone that really meant it. No-one had ever been so keen to please him, yet the girl who should have the least, seemed to care the most. He didn't understand, it didn't make any sense.

Lola felt the fringe of his curly mop tickle her forehead as he dropped his head forward slightly, his eyes never leaving hers.

"Why?" he insisted

Lola could only shrug, not having an answer. She didn't have a reason. She didn't know why her eyes were welling up either as she tried to meet Harry's stare. He was staring her deeply in the eyes, demanding reasons and answers. His hands had still not left their position on the upper arms, keeping her against the wall as he leant over her.

"You used to smile and I fucking hated it, and you" she gushed, a tear falling from her eye as she laughed slightly. She looked up at him, lifting and dropping her shoulders as her eyebrows turned upwards in the middle. Her voice had become barely a whisper though the sore throat muscles "I-it's kind of rare now"

Harry leant in a few centimetres further, his warm forehead finally touching Lola's and resting against it gently. She felt her heartrate speed up, her pulse throbbing and stomach clenching as she felt his breath on her mouth.

Harry asked the question one more time

"Why do you want me to be happy when i've been so cruel to you?"

Lola didn't answer, and just felt lost in this whole situation, the tip of her nose brushing against Harrys, his full lips hanging over her. The smell and warmth of him overwhelming her, and the confrontational questions he repeated, digging deep into her mind and feelings.

"Why?"

Lola felt her stomach flutter slightly and parted her lips, her voice stuttering. "I.....I d-don't know..I really don't. I just.."

She didn't get chance to finish her sentence as Harry slot his lips into place with hers, silencing her words. She froze straight away at the unexpected action, but relaxed into him a little as he pouted his soft lips against hers, and she realised this was a genuine kiss he was giving her.

Her heart pounded violently, tingles erupting through her hot tear stained damp cheeks. What was going on?

She felt Harry's breath hitch as he felt similiar thoughts running through his head, and he moved his lips slowly. His large hands found their place on her waist, gently pulling her into his body. Was this really happening?!

Lola responded by bringing her hand up to hold the back of his warm tan neck, feeling the thick curls brush her fingers. The tiny hairs on the back of his neck stood up and his eyelids fluttered slightly. She moved her lips in similar motions, tasting every inch of moist skin. His lips were full, puffy and soft, so expert as they explored her own.

Adrenaline ran through their bodies, causing the flurry of thoughts in their heads to melt away and catch fire as they kissed passionately.

She lost herself after a few seconds when the kiss intensified, as their warm wet tongues slid against one another, a small involutary whimper leaving Lola as she felt goosebumps on her skin.

She couldn't believe what was happening, she didn't know what emotion she was even feeling but she could have practically burst into tears as they ovewhelmed her, her head spinning.

Harry didn't know what to feel either. He was trying not to concentrate on it for now, because this felt right. He had lost control of the difference between his body and mind, and couldn't stop himself from making out with the girl who'd been his enemy for so long. The girl who'd been the victim of his issues, and who at the same time, cared for him more than his friends ever really had.

All they both knew for now was, that the night out was well and truly over but the night of firsts between Harry and Lola was only just beginning...
