 Rori Everhart

I still couldn’t believe what I had just heard. This had to be a joke, right? Right…. I quickly made my way through the herds of people at the party, my blood at the verge of boiling. I can’t believe he said that, after he kissed me and everything. Stop thinking about that douche bag Rori, I said to myself trying to get him out of my head.

In my hurry I bumped into someone making them fall helplessly on their butt. When I looked back it was Tara who was having a giggling fit obviously still very much drunk. I helped pick her back up which was a mission because she had no sense of balance.

“You are so pretty, how are you just friends with Al.” Tara asked grabbing my face in her hands.

“Well he’s friends with you too.” I told her avoiding her curious glaze.

“We’re friends because he knows I have my sights set elsewhere.”  Tara put her arm around my shoulders and directed me to look towards the bar. “See that handsome guy with the blonde hair, yeah well I’ve been in love with him since I was six and he is still so oblivious to it.” Tara cried, tears falling down her face.  My eyes were probably the size of a tennis ball, the blonde guy was Stellan and he was very much flirting with another girl. Tara pulled me into a hug as she sobbed into my shoulder.

“Why does he have to be so stupid? I could scream my confession to him and he still wouldn’t notice I’m crazy about him.” She mumbled.  I patted her back soothingly.

“Men. You can’t live with them, you can’t live without them.” I told her and she nodded vigorously.

“It’s times like this I wish I played for the other team.” She muttered with a pout, pulling away to look me in the face. Her arms still wrapped around my neck; I smiled at her and pushed her hair out of her face. Her eyeliner was running down her cheeks. I don’t know why people get so emotional when they’re drunk. I always thought they drank because they were emotional. I guess it works both ways.

“Come on. Let’s get you into a bed.”  I told her leading her up the stairs and into the room that I supposed would be hers, it’s the only one with a bright pink door. I pulled off her shoes and tucked her into bed.

“Rori, I think Alex really likes you.” She mumbled holding onto my hand as I was about to walk away.

“I highly doubt that.” I muttered, rolling my eyes. The moments that unraveled a few minutes ago replayed in my head. It definitely stirred emotions and not the good kind. I looked down at Tara and she was already half way to Dreamland.  “I guess this is my cue to leave,” I murmured to myself. Few minutes after leaving Tara’s room, I managed to squeeze through the living room and out to the front lawn. I took my phone out and started to dial Miles but it was ripped out of my hand before I could.

“What the fuck?” I yelled turning to look at Alex who had a smug grin on his stupid face.

“Don’t think I’m letting you escape so soon.” He said sliding my phone into his back pocket.

“Give me my phone,” I all but snarled through clenched teeth.

“Don’t get your panties in a twist,” He joked.

“I said give me my phone, ass hat,” I screeched reaching forward to grab it. Alex easily dodged me; instead he grabbed my hands and wrapped my arms around his neck as he leant down to kiss the tip of my nose. “Let go of me.” I said sternly, trying to free my hands out of his grip.

“I said let go.” I screamed pushing myself back with all my strength and that’s the moment he decides to actually listen and let me go, making me fall onto my back.
