Chapter 5
Calena's POV
"Julianne, I have a favour! Can you drive me to the tattoo parlour? I want to get something." I say pulling puppy eyes.
"Fine! Did your parents okay it?" She asks.
"Yes they did and if anyone asks you're my sister." She rolls her eyes.
"Let's go!"
"Thank you! I love you," I smile.
"Yeah! Yeah! Let's go!"
After we get to the tattoo place and they get me a consultation Julianne signs and the artist asks me what I would like and where.
"I was thinking of the saying 'love risks everything and asks for nothing' but in Swedish on my thigh in cursive. I have the translation here," I say pulling out a piece of paper from my purse. She looks it over and smiles.
"I can do that, anything else?"
"On my left wrist could I get 01.17.16 for the day I meet my soulmates. You don't think that's a bad idea do you?" I ask them. They both smile and shake their heads.
"Of course not! You'll always remember and have your soulmates. How about we put it somewhere not as visible like on the tail end of your thigh tattoo?" The artist Katy asks.
"That's a great idea. Let's do that!" She draws it out and shows me.
"Perfect! Thank you," she smiles and leads me to a bed. I pull up my shorts and she places the stencil on and removes it leaving the ink on my skin.
"Ready?" I nod and Julianne stands beside me.
"If you need me to hold your hand I can." She offers her hand. I grab it and squeeze gratefully.
"Thank you." Katy puts the needle to my leg and starts to tattoo it. I yelp in pain but soon it just becomes numb with the occasional jolt of pain.
"So Calena, how does it feel?" Julianne asks holding her phone up videotaping me.
"Oh it feels fantastic. So blessed, so moved, so happy to be here." I say through gritted teeth. Katy smiles and Julianne laughs.
"What are you getting?"
"You'll just have to wait and see." I wink. She stops and puts her phone away.
"You'll be getting a notification soon. I tagged you in the video," she laughs.
"Fantastic thank you!" It takes a little while but then the tattoo is complete. She wipes it down and let's me see it. "I love it! Thank you so much!" Katy wipes it down and bandages it up.
"Now keep this one for at least three days but continue to clean it. Hope you enjoy it and thanks for choosing us to do your tattoo." She smiles thanking us.
"No thank you, this is fantastic." We pay and then go for something to eat.
"So have you talked to the boys lately?" She asks sipping on her lemonade.
"Texting yes, but only Alex. Will hasn't been talking to me but I guess we've all been so busy." I pout. I miss them so much, I never thought I would ever miss them as much as I do.
"Well then you'll need to text them after we're done on our date honey." I laugh and shrug.
"Guess so."
~ January 31st 2016 ~
"Your grandmother has passed away." My mom says in tears to me over the phone. I sit in shock as the news sinks in.
"When's the funeral?" I ask. "How did this happen? She never even met Will or Alex." I whimper looking up to the sky.
"She knew who they were honey. I showed her the photo you sent us of the three. She said that you were perfect for each other. The funeral is on the 4th at home." Mom says getting choked up in tears.
"I'm coming home," I choke out wiping my tears.
"Okay, your room is ready. Will you be bringing your boys?"
"Not sure who has hockey and who doesn't. We'll have to see."
"Okay honey, I'm sorry to tell you before Grease happened."
"No, I'm glad you told me mom. Now I can dedicate this to her."
"That's a good idea honey. I love you," mom says with a sniffle.
"I love you too mamma. I'll be home as soon as I can."
"Okay baby, break a leg tonight. You'll do amazing!"
"Thanks, alright I should probably let you go."
"Okay, have a good night."
"Thanks bye."
"Bye," then the line goes dead. I sit there in shock.
"What's wrong Calena?" I hear Aaron ask. I get up and hug him tightly.
"My grandma died." I cry into his chest.
"Aw honey," he whispers rubbing my back.
"She didn't even get to meet my soulmates." I sob and he doesn't say anything just continues to hold me.
"Aaron, Calena!" We hear but I don't look up. "What's wrong?" Carlos asks.
"Her grandmother died," Aaron replies for me.
"Aw sweetheart," Carlos says joining us and soon it's a whole lot of people hugging me.
"Are you going to be okay to do this tonight?" I sniffle and nod.
"Yes, she'd want me to. I'll just dedicate everything I do tonight to her," they nod.
"That's a good idea. I'm sorry this happened Cal." Keke says patting my shoulder.
"It's alright, I mean at least she's not sick anymore right?" Their faces turn to sorrow filled.
"Yeah." I take a deep breath and smile wiping my tears.
"Alright, let's get this done!" I say walking away towards the hair and makeup room.
"Do you want to get into character now?"
"Yes please." The sooner I get out of being me and into being Rizzo the less chance I have of breaking down in tears. It takes an hour and a bit but soon I am into character. I slip into my costume and walk around trying to find anyone to talk with. My phone rings though and I go to find a quiet space.
"Hello?" I ask.
"Hi beautiful," I hear Alex say softly.
"How are you?"
"I'm good, how are you?" I sigh and force out a 'good'. "That's good, I miss you darling."
"I miss you too baby. More than ever."
"Are you sure you're alright?" He asks.
"Yes, just home sick."
"You'll be home soon enough. Then I'll be able to take you on a real date."
"You want to take me on a date?" He laughs and I find myself smiling at his laugh.
"Yeah, why wouldn't I?" I shrug and then stupidly realizing he can't see me say,
"Well because, umm well I don't know."
"You're so cute."
"Thanks hot stuff. So how's the family? How's hockey? We haven't talked in so long!"
"We talked the other day."
"Well I haven't heard your voice in a while. I miss it," he lets out an 'aww'.
"Hockey's good, long but good. Family is good, my mom is coming with my younger sisters soon for the rest of the season."
"Aww that's so nice. I can't wait to meet them."
"They're excited too. Especially my mother and my sister Jackie."
"She's the one a year younger than me correct?"
"Yeah, she's fifteen."
"Sweet! She'll be fun to hang out with!"
"Oh yeah definitely!"
