Christmas Thoughts and Thanks

So, I was transferring a bunch of old files from the desktop to my laptop and I found a folder titled "poems" and they're mostly trash but this book is not just for good poems it's for the trashy stuff I wrote as a twelve-year-old and proudly gave my teacher as a present so here is a Christmas-y one on that note:

As I place the gifts for my family

Underneath the Christmas tree,

I wonder if teacher's thinkin' of me.

Have I been a student that's very good?

Have I done the things I should?

If I could pay her back, well then, I would.

Was I ever disrespectful or rude,

To put her in a bad mood?

If I could pay her back, well then, I would.

But is it too late for me to regret

The things I want to forget,

Or can I still pay her back yet?

As I place the Child in his manger-bed,

All these thoughts spin through my head.

Then I remember the Child's blood so red.

He has even more for me than her;

He has made me his sister,

And He's plucked my sinful, Satan-made burr.
