my sunflower friend

she stands among us all so tall

so graceful and so beautiful.

her face she always turns to light,

her back to darkness and the night.

the sun has kissed her on the nose,

and on each cheek in gentle rose.

she stands so tall, and all the while

from head to toe she bears a smile

and over us in kindness bends:

my sunshine-y wonderful sunflower friend
