he loves me, he loves me not

I don't think he understands
Just how much this hurts.
Maybe I don't understand
The meaning of his words.
I'm drowning in a sea of tears;
I'm kicking, screaming, no air in my lungs.
The reality of all my fears,
It's overwhelming and the words on my tongue,
They won't come-my mouth fills with water
I'm crying out to God my Father.
This isn't fair,
I thought he cared,
But now he tells me that it's not like that.
I'm back where I started; even worse-
My attachment's still just growing, this is bad,
Thought things were better, now it's in reverse.
I hear his voice, it's echoing in my head,
"Don't do this to me," that's what he said.
Well, then, I'll keep on loving you behind the scenes,
I don't want to hurt you, but I can't stop this, trust me.
I'm still thinking we were meant to be.
Love like this, my love for you,
You don't know it, but oh, I do.
You think you've seen it, but that was only a taste,
I swear, love like this doesn't go to waste.
