Rain—my greatest companion,
relief is what I feel when I'm alone
alone with my thoughts as each droplet
falls to the cloudy muddled ground.
My mind so eager now to start anew
gaping in awe, knowing where I'm bound
Its petrichor takes me to another place
where my fears and doubts can be replaced,
with strength and certitude;
where I can take off my hood
and let myself face the challenges therein.
Rain—not just my companion
'tis my antidote from now on.
