I needed to think about things.  I just wanted to somehow realize what just happened.  After walking a few blocks,  I finally made it to the tall skyscraper building.  I went inside and my friend Louis was there, sitting at the front desk.

"Hey Louis, I'm just going to go up to my little 'hideout' for awhile"

"Yeah, sure, no problem kiddo"

Me and Louis met when I was a few weeks into my job here when I moved to New York.  I had to go to a meeting in this building before.  I couldn't find my way around, and he happened to be there.  He helped and showed me around.  We sort of connected I guess and became friends.  He's like that friend that you have who is way older than you.  In a way he was like my grandfather or something.  He's 80 now, he wasn't young when I met him.  He's worked at this building for years now.  He saw that I loved coming here whenever I needed to think, so he kind of gave me like an 'unlimited pass'.  Now I can come here to escape.

I finally made my way to the top of the building.  It was an open balcony.  I stood at the edge and looked at the view.  It was already past midnight and there was only a tall lamp post in the middle of the floor.  Although I didn't mind.  I had the rest of the city for light.  All the buildings and streets below me, all lit up so nicely.  It was so....beautiful, serene.  I would always come here to calm myself and think.  Sometimes I would stay here for hours.  It was so special to me.  I didn't want to be disturbed when I was here.  I haven't  told anyone about it, not even Jess.

I stood there looking over the big city, watching cars pass by.  I thought about so many things, like how Elijah spoke to me, calling me property?, and Grayson, why did he act so weird that night?

I still couldn't believe Elijah almost... that he wanted to....

I didn't even want to say it.  I started to tear a little.  I heard a commotion in the distance.  I couldn't see clearly through the dark.  I managed to see a dark figure sitting at the other side of the balcony.  I couldn't see their face but I walked closer.  It was a man, broad shoulders and muscles.  Before I could see his face, I already knew who it was.

"Grayson?"
