We were like the ocean and the coast,
I'd always stay and you'd always come back.
Except maybe I wanted us the most,
'Cuz every crashing wave was an attack.
I thought we were the perfect beach,
But the retreating water was heading for another land.
We were just out of each other's reach,
But you can leave, there's probably better sand.
Come back if you want to, I'll never leave.
But I won't make you stay.
I can't be that naive.
I'll be fine anyway
But you wanted something more.
And you headed off to another shore.
