since we were small we've had
imaginary friends
there for us when reality
was not
what if reality never came
and i grew up
imagining?
what if my
imaginary friend
had never left?
what if i want him to leave
but he won't
he's too clingy
and as teenagers
my mind
forcing me to drive around
these strangers in my backseat
i knew you when we were small
but not anymore
everyone else has grown up
why not me?
real imaginary friends
just won't leave
and let you be.
