the lampshade of society
that dims and shields i, the bulb
though i sometimes can be compared with the legs
that support the weight of the couch
while you be the rug, low-lie but pretty
and you the high bright chandelier,
the spider of lights
i be the window letting light in and show truth
of the outside world
you'll never see
because i have two sides as a window,
one out, one in
ambiverted
and which side you see is determined by
if you are willing to go to the other side
or not
so while i may seem silly
to compare my self to a mere window
i warn you wall-hangings and mirrors
while you be but pretty
i am truth
and if you refuse me
i will silently shut
the blinds
