wildfire wedding

hiding behind a pellucid white veil

in my mind i went over my melancholy tale

i sat on a stump and i took off my shoes

in this bright orange forest of glorious hues

and i sang out a cry that rang through the sky

sending the signal for young birds to fly

a tear was a dewdrop that rest on my cheek

i gazed at the ground i was to scared to seek

the dress was now ragged and tinged at the ends

the tears blurred my vision so the colours would blend

i remember my groom as he called out my name

"alise, my love, this fire won't be tamed,"

his body caught fire like a flame to a match

to his face the explosion began to attach

he fell to his knees skin peeled off in burnt tones

once the love of my life was a pile of dead bones

the wildfire was coming, there wasn't escape

i'll accept my tragic death and let the flames reshape
