Alia

Once out of the shower and the blood was washed off my skin, I quickly changed into something comfy. Sitting on my bed for a little bit, I stared out the window, my mind replaying that moment. The sound of the gun shot, the car, the man lying on the ground helpless. I didn't even hesitate to help, it was like I was supposed to.

Running a hand through my hair to get the stray pieces of hair our of my face, the door to my bedroom opened, and there stood Evelyn. A look of worry on her face as she stayed in the doorway. "Are you ok Alia". Sending the small girl a smile, I made my way over to her, picking her up and placing her on my hip.

Giving a quick peck to her cheek, the younger girl giggled before burying her head into my neck. Walking out of the bedroom, I carried the girl into the bonus room where Drake and Connor were. Taking a seat next to Drake, I could tell boy was also a bit freaked about the whole situation. Opening my other arm, the boy moved closer to my side.

"Jacob says that he will be home in a few hours, and will bring home ice cream to help us deal with the stress". Small cheers rang through the room. With Eve and Drake both laying on top of my shoulders, Connor took control of playing the game.

Hearing a car door, we all got off the couch in the bonus room, and made our way downstairs. The second the door was unlocked and opened, Jacob waltzed in with Chinese food and ice cream. Smiling at the 4 of us, we all bounced into the kitchen, excited to eat. Helping get the plates and stuff, I would occasionally look at my hand, feeling like I still had dried blood on it.

A hand was clasped on my shoulder causing me to tilt my head to look at the person. Seeing Jacob behind me, he squeezed me shoulder before pulling me into a hug. "Remember you tried to save a life Alia, that in itself is brave and selfless."

Sending a grateful smile, the two of us went over to the table where the others were waiting for us. We spent the rest of the night playing games, and listening to Jacob telling these crazy stories. He took our minds off of the situation. Eventually seeing the time, we all started to get ready for bed.

Making sure my homework was completed for school, I sat on my bed, my mind wandering to all sorts of things. Spotting my door opening, Connor wandered into my room before jumping face first on the bed. "Do we have to go to school tomorrow. I don't want to get up at 6".

Chuckling at his despair, I couldn't help but nod in agreement. "I wish, but just think, only a few more weeks until we are out of school and into summer break". Not even two seconds later, to bodies come flying onto my bed, tackling me and landing on top of Connor. Giggles and laughter echoed the room from Eve and Drake, while Connor and I were groaning.

Eventually allowing me to get up, I bear hugged Evelyn, picking her up. Carrying the girl to her bedroom, I carefully plopped the small child onto the bed. Her body bouncing slightly. "Get some sleep rascal. We got school tomorrow". Shuffling underneath the covers, I exited the blonde's room, shutting off the lights on the way out.

Shutting off my bedroom lights and door once I entered, I flopped onto the bed. Curling underneath the covers, the dreams I was usually plagued with weren't there. Instead it was a nightmare, one that felt so real.

Waking up, sweat coating my head and back, my heart pounding against my chest. Trying to take a deep breath to get my breathing back to normal, I closed my eyes trying to stop the tears from falling. Wiping away the stray tears, I pull the covers off my body, the cold air feeling nice against the sweat covering my body.

Tapping my phone's screen, 12:39 shown brightly in my eyes. Shaking my head, I moved to where I was sitting in front of my window. Leaning against the frame, I stared at the woods behind the house, the trees swaying do to the wind blowing. The consistent motion calming my erratic heart.
