Alia

"I don't like this" I pointed out to Jordan. She was currently talking about this "date" her and Mason were going on. Of course being the best friend, I was happy for her but at the same time against it. The vibe I get off of Mason wasn't a good one and I didn't want her involved with him.

"I know Lia, but he seems like he actually cares". Pursing my lips slightly, I looked at the table. The way she perceives him is as this charming nice guy, but his actions and behavior speaks louder. I have heard about him, and he doesn't have a good reputation behind his name.

"Be cautious that's all I'm saying Jord. I don't like him, I think he is taking advantage of you. But if he is truly different with you then I will back off" but I know I won't back off. He uses girls, and I am afraid Jordan is next on his list.

Giving me a curt nod she walked away from me. Watching her movements, I could tell she was annoyed that I didn't agree with this date. A presence besides me caught my attention, forcing me to look away from my best friend. "You know she will call you the second she realizes you are right"

Smiling at Connor, I nodded slowly. "I know. I just don't trust Mason, he is up to something". Walking towards the bus with Connor, in the corner of my eye, I saw Jordan walking with Mason to a car. Turning my head to look over my shoulder, it looked like there was a other teen driving but one I couldn't put a name to a face to. A bad feeling started to bloom in my gut forcing me to look away, not wanting to be caught staring for to long.

Taking my phone out of my bag, I bit my lip as I did something she probably wouldn't like if she found out. Opening my tracking app, I made sure her phone was connected to mine. Seeing her image appear on the screen, I took a breath in relief knowing that if something were to go wrong, I knew where she was.

Sitting in my "assigned" seat on the bus, I found myself in a conversation with a few people around me with my foster brothers included. "See if you did that, then you would cornered. How are you going to escape that"

Chuckling softly, I wanted to hear Connor's reply. "Simple, swipe out their legs and make a run for it. I'm sure speed demon over there will gladly give me some of her speed". Shaking my head at him, I playfully pushed his shoulder. Realizing we were at our bus stop, I got off the bus with the two boys.

Running towards the house, the three of us laughing. Opening the door to the house, the two boys ran towards the bonus room but I stayed in the living room. Glancing at my phone, the bad feeling inside of me continued to grow. Something bad was about to happen and my concern for Jordan increased. Trying to shake it off, I walked upstairs and to my room.

-------

Hours of hearing nothing from Jordan, I sighed thinking maybe she was ok. The sound of a knock on the front door catching my attention, I got off the bed to see who it was. As I grew closer, the terrible feeling inside of my gut pulsed erratically. Swinging the door open, there I saw Jordan on my front porch, bruises littering  her face, blood on her jeans.

Sprinting towards her side, her cries of pain were all I heard. "Jacob!" I cried out, holding Jordan. His thundering footsteps came bounding through the house and outside where I was. Noticing the state she was in, grabbed his keys off the table by the front door.

Helping the girl off the porch she cried in pain, trying not to shed my own tears, I got into the back seat with her. Jordan's arms wrapped around me, crying into my shoulder. Whipping out of the driveway Jacob rushed to the hospital. Arriving outside the ER I helped my best friend out of the car, carrying all of her weight. Walking into the ER I saw a nurse from the ED come rushing towards us. "We got her".

Standing next to my foster dad, we stood their anxious watching them take Jordan into one of the rooms. Grabbing his phone, Jacob called Jordan's parents to alert them. As for me I bit my lip nervously, worried. Sitting in one of waiting room chairs, I watched as the nurse who took Jordan from me came out. Making her way over to bent down in front of me. "Sweetie, your friend wants you"

Glancing at Jacob seeing him give me a nod of approval, I followed the gorgeous dark skinned woman to where Jordan was. Quickly going to her side, she grabbed my hand, squeezing it for dear life. Scanning her face, I could tell she went through hell. Scanning the room, I saw a red-haired doctor watching the interaction. "You must be Alia, your friend here wouldn't talk or let us examine her unless you were here"

Nodding sadly, I squeezed her hand. Making sure I was out of the way enough to allow them to examine her, I stayed with their permission. Listening to what happened, all I could do was shake my head. Noticing the doctors last name, an idea popped in my head. "Doctor Halstead". Turning his attention towards me. "Are you related to Jay Halstead". Chuckling softly he nodded his head.

"We are brothers why?"

"Is it possible to get him here, I might know who did this".

Jordan shot me a look, absolutely terrified at the idea of a cop getting involved. "No. If he finds out I told, bad things are going to happen Alia."

"Jordan, he beat you, left you outside of my house.". Subtly looking at the doctor he nodded at me agreeing. Watching him leave the room to call Jay possibly, I faced my best friend fully. "He raped you. Do you seriously think as your best friend I am going to let him get away with that. Hell your parents are going to want the cops involved"

After a little bit a knock on the door caught both of our attentions. Looking up, I sent a grateful smile to Will when Jay walked in. Sitting on the edge of the bed, Jordan Laid her head on my shoulder and as she told the detective all the details. Clenching my eyes shut, I tried so hard to not think about it.

"Mason Gomez" was the only thing I said, hearing my blonde friend inhale sharply, Jay turned to me curiously. "He is the guy Jordan has been talking to. He is in the 9th grade". Nodding his head, he gave me a small smile before leaving the room. Seconds later Jordan's parents came rushing into the room.

Knowing the girl was ok, Jacob took us back home.

Author NoteNow I know that half of this wouldn't happen in real life.  With the whole confidentiality thing, and if you are a minor having a guardian present while talking to an officer. I just didn't know how else to get Jay involved in the case, but to get Alia dragged into the whole plot line.
